  • Great song, great video. Cant believe this has so few views considering how long its been up on youtube. Gotta love those old vinyls, my old 60s Ferguson recordplayer still kicks audio ass!

  • @westgoten Thanks about the video! and the song, but I can't take credit for anything more than good taste :) I have a 70s Technics and its still spinin like crazy.

  • Vitology does not get its due

  • This song is musically inspired by Johnny Thunders from the New York Dolls (70's glam band). Kick ass song from a classic PJ album!

  • your carnal use of that scratchy black and white imagery is so inspiring

  • @2ndCrysis carnal....i dig

  • This song kicks your ass back to the 90's

  • Awesome job with the video man!!!!! really! have you or have you considered making others? for other bands?

  • @pennyroyaltea89 Thanks so much! I have considered making more videos and am looking for the ones who want some of this action......I'm doing stereoscopic 3D video now so imagine this in 3D! That's what I'm talking about....

  • @Coldie42 haha that's rad bro! yea, i am always really disappointed with some of the crappy quality videos that people make with some of my favorite songs and favorite bands. You did a really good job! Good to see people still using their imaginations.

  • @Coldie42 Can you inbox me your details please?? I know a couple of bands looking for something like this... You might be the right person for the job ;)

  • wtf

  • Awesome pearl jam song.

  • this song is amazing, and this video KICKS ALL KINDS OF ASS!!!

  • This Is A Punk Song!

Check Out "Recipe For Hate" From Bad Religion (Punk Rock Band).

Mr. Vedder Does Some Backing Vocals On That Record!!!!

  • I wonder what kids think of those wavy texts it ask's you to input before your comment is entered. As if its not hard enough to read our letters as a foreigner, no lets just add waves and write it upside down! i can't even read it and ive lived in America my whole damn life

  • this song is the shit, nuff' said

  • Awesome video and song!

  • horrible song for vedder's abilities

  • Ha ha ha, I've had this song on cd for ages, but I never made the connection between a black circle and a record until now... LeSigh, now I want a record player... and records... I feel like I missed out!

  • ran ran ruu!

  • Dumpert.

  • @SuperHugo95 hahah jammer dat die moeder net binnekwam ;O

  • This song definitely uses the playing of an album as a metaphor for heroin use. It's a very creative use of lyrics, and an awesome song!

  • i love this track and video

  • @ScalpYourWig Thanks! Now I'm working with 3D stereoscopic graphics. Check out my site ab3dcreative

  • @ScalpYourWig same here...brings back memories of good times and fkn great music !

  • And hear I was thinking this song was about an acid trip for some reason.

  • @T800rule the song is about shooting up

  • @GuitarManiacRocker Uh... are you sure? 100% sure?

  • @GuitarManiacRocker ...you're a moron. grow up. thanx.

  • Happy Record Store Day to all... spin the black circle!

  • this song is cool but pearl jam has got a lot of better songs, i dont think this 1 shuldbe won the grammy

  • Great video! Nice work!

  • Best. Driving. Song. Ever.

  • @Drumma425 If I had this on when I was dricing I'd probably crash

  • 5 people are devoid of ears.....

  • this is great

  • GREAT VIDEO

  • Coldie42, sorry for arguing in your coments, the vid's really good. peace

  • pretty good song and pretty good video, but I'm afraid that this is wrong.. I mean, this song talks about heroine (the black circle is the mark that stays on the spoon after warming it).

Once you know this, listen to the song again and think about it.

However, I also loved your interpretation. like it and fav

  • @articxbullet Wow...you seriously thought this was about heroin? hahahaha

You know, in the album sleeve, right where the lyrics to this song are, it says "VIVA LA VINYL", it has a drawing of a record player spinning a record? No, this can't be about spinning records at all *rolls eyes*

    Nice imagination, though!

  • @evanisovich But also says "the CD is a bad acid". if the CD is LSD, vinyl is... Heorin. Remember that heroin was a very important drug in the 90's, when grunge started

  • @redshark101 Oh, for Christ's sake. Drop the heroin bit, will you? The song hasn't a goddamn thing to do with heroin, and ANYONE who thinks so is fucking delusional. End of discussion. PS - grunge started in the 80's...but I wouldn't expect someone from BCN to know that.

  • Comment removed

  • @articxbullet, I can agree with your point of view, especially if we take into consideration lyrics like "oh your so warm"; many have described heroin as being like a warm blanket.

However, if we read the liner notes in Vitalogy, you'll find a little quote "a CD is like bad acid" & around the time the album came out, Eddie made his disdain of CD's clear and espoused the joys of Vinyl.

If anything, this song is intended to have a double entendre.

  • @articxbullet -- I believe it is meant to mean both. Like you, I initially thought the song was alluding to heroin use when it first came out and I had a dubbed cassette copy of it. It was only when I got it for my 18th birthday shortly there after and saw the artwork in the cd booklet that I saw the references to vinyl

  • @sliverradio I think it's talking about both-Vinyl & Heroin... They have a good few songs referring to it, and if you know Pearl Jam's story, you'd know that the original band had lost their frontman due to an OD... They then got Vedder & changed their name, but Chris' death stayed with them...

  • @articxbullet Actually it isn't. The song is about vinyl, but Vedder intentionally wrote the lyrics in a way that suggested heroin use. I think if it actually was about heroin, it wouldn't be so obvious.

  • @articxbullet

It's about playing vinyl. Stop looking for meanings n songs that aren't there.

  • @articxbullet I'm pretty sure Eddie Vedder said himself it's about records

  • FANTASTIC VID! 10Stars from me!! Great job!

    Happy year of the Rhino!

  • Can we stop congatulating this guy so much, hes clearly not a Pearl Jam fan...he spelled Vitalogy wrong in the description.

  • Great work - thanks for posting!

  • BAD ASS.

  • i love this pearl jam they became pritty bad over the years i like everything from ten to yield

  • @wadereed27 Well they say that they changed because they aren't the rebellious teenagers that they once were, and I respect that, especially since it wasn't a change for money. But I like a lot of their new stuff anyway.

  • @Tim000009 i liked the one that came out in 2006 with world wide suicide but the backspacer or what ever its called sucked i thought but ya alot of grudge bands have showed age them, stp, alice in chains kind of did,i think the new soundgarden song rocks though

  • cool video man, love it.. love the song, love Vedder

  • Pure "Hüsker Dü" copy / rip-off song!

  • you can hear (this song specially) pj has influenced kings of leon first albums....caleb was kinda right

  • 4 people can't let go of their 8-tracks.

  • Viva la vinyl.

  • dude this video is so cool!!!!

  • first three albums (especialy Vs and vitalogy) were really the best <33 Also yield is great too in my opinion and then it was down hill (for me) =/

  • i thought this was the actual video for the song.Great job dude.

  • Awesome song! Pearl Jam rocks!

  • I love this f in vid dude. nice. :)

  • woooo encontre la cancion!! la buscaba hace meses!!

  • I love this song! :D

  • this song was aimed at Kurt Cobain and his addiction to heroin.

  • @brianintn No its about vinyl records, not every song made in 1994 has to be about Kurt.

  • @TheGoldenShamrocks not saying that all were made of him, but someone who has done heroin could identify with some of the things Eddie says. so one could get a different impression of this song. and also you don't have to be a bitch about it either. getting all smart and shit.

  • @brianintn Sorry man, you just stated that the song was aimed a Kurt Cobain like it was an actual fact. If thats your interpretation fine, I was just stating what the song was most likely about. I made that comment after listening to all of Vitalogy, and on most of the videos people said that the particular song was about Kurt and I was piss because of it. No hard feelings though okay :)

  • @TheGoldenShamrocks not taken at all brother.

  • @brianintn This song has absolutely NOTHING to do with Kurt Cobain. It's about Eddie's love of VINYL. YEEEEE HAwwwww

  • Anyone who bought this album on cd, is ah pud.

  • listen to "i hate people" by anti nowhere league. notice any similarities in the guitar riff?

  • @sillymonkey829 Yup, that's exactly why I came to this video. I listened to that ANL song and I was like, "I know that riff..."

  • i thot this song was about drugs until this video

  • Spin the mothafucka!!!!!!

  • Even though this is a grunge song, I just couldn't help but bang my head. Great song by the way.

  • bien, simplemente lo mejor, saludos desde honduras

  • A song about 'drugs' that was actually an homage to the humble vinyl record.

I'm laughing at those finger wagging now-it-alls who know nothing.

  • Never was aware they made a vid for this song. An incredible song.

  • I'm not even a Pearl Jam fan (prefer Soundgarden) but this song kicks my ass

  • FUCKIN BAD AAAAASSSSS!!!!

  • Cool video man, spirit of song, spirit of Pearl Jam... Do u work in Ames design? :D

  • @benhype No, I don't but would love to one day...

  • @Coldie42 dude go for it

  • I could be wrong, but I think this song is about playing vinyl records.

  • @termsofusepolice you think?

  • awsome vid! nicely done!

  • what an amazing vid! hats off to whoever made it

  • Fucking ace, man. If I had the cash I'd pay you to do a video for my stuff. ACE.

  • @dystop ace of clubs

  • not gonna lie before I saw this video I thought that too... my bad.

  • I am so fucking impressed with this video, I can guaran-damn-tee PJ would have given the green light for this to be the official STBC video if they ever had one. VERY nicely done.

  • As much as I love PJ, and this song, I personally don't know why this is the one that got them their one and only Grammy. It's just not really all that Grammy worthy.

  • Listen to Husker Du Beyond the Thershold. PJ stole this track. And now you will wish that they gave the award that year to a band who really wanted it ALICE IN CHAINS

  • @amentveddergossard I listened to it.............LOL , gotta say alot of similarity in the beat with guitar and drums...but at the same time, if we all didn't take from other bands and use beats to hike the way twords our meanings where would we all be.....LOL, look at Elvis and how much he BORROWED from the Blues artists.. :) right? Good call though bro, you know your rythm and beats.....and bands man! Cheers to you!

  • @amentveddergossard I agree with absolutely everything you had to say.

  • PENA BRANCA E XAVANTINHO

  • where will i be without pearl jam?

  • makes the hairs on the bakk of my neck stand up

such a fuking elecrtifying and totally fukin awesome

  • Eddie Vedder doesn't sing, he ROCKS!!!

  • @spiderjerusalem100 never a truer word was spoken

  • @spiderjerusalem100 fuck yeah!! absolutely right!

  • THIS SONG ROCKS SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!

  • Very nicely done. I would buy this as an official video by Pearl Jam for the song.

  • It must be that good, because you posted this exact statement in the 10C forums, hahaha!

  • I did??

  • Sorry, wrong person, somebody brought this video up on the forums, though.

  • what is this song about?

  • about playing a record (vinyl)....its a black circle that spins...see the needle dropping down....

  • It's literally about the band's love of vinyl records. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • every one loves vinyl lol i personally think it should be more like the old days when there was nothing but vinyl & cassette every thing was so damn raw on those things.

  • Beautiful piece of art, congrats!

    Pearl Jam rules!

  • This video is awesome - whoever made this... is awesome - you really captured the psychotic obsessiveness the song demonstrates - love it
