  • Wow it landed so hard!!!

  • Lol when we went to St.Lucia (BA2158) the landing was so hard oxygen masks came down and the emergency lighting came on

  • @cjxmc Haha that happened to us on an excel flight from Majorca to Gatwick, every one screamed, it was foggy and my god the landing was hard!

  • that was so ILS....

  • DID WE LAND OR WERE WE SHOT DOWN

  • it could be cross winds.

  • I think he let the plane have its head from about 30 feet !

  • thomson have a target touchdown, the pilot must aim to touchdown at between 100fpm and a max of 400fpm

  • Not a good day for the pilot/copilot lol

  • its the fact the gear lean foward

  • @Aviationnation10 I know, the 767 tends to be a hard 1 to make it land smoothly! Its really common that they land like this, it just seems really rough from in the cabin!

  • @rachaelmatt the gear just slam on to the tarmac

  • it scared me when the plane landed

  • I think generally the 767 tends to touch down a bit hard, that's what I've heard. It's not the most graceful plane out there

  • @danielfisher94 yeah, thats what I've noticed since.

  • He did seem a bit fast - full flap, bet he was wishing there was even more flap he could put on.

  • @SebastianBach99 flaps are used to increase lift at low speed, in no way does you comment make sense. Plus I'd LOVE to see you have a go....

  • Where's the music coming from?

  • i see this planes enterin barbados all the time where exactly those it come from?

  • @xavier19062 Its in the description mate, Gatwick, which is London.

  • @rachaelmatt it comes from all over the u.k., they have flights from bristol, manchester etc every week during peek season.

  • i have made that landing to with a jetair boeing 767-300er! it was very hard

  • What kind of fucking landing was that i would thingk that the landing gear would brake.

  • Some of mine turn out like that on FS! :D

  • My guess for the late reverse thurst is the fact that they had the full use of the runway as the parking is usually at the end of the terminal and the speed the aircraft landed at, although those Thomson flight come into Barbados full they're usually light on fuel. I suppose you were transported in a coach straight out the airport to the cruise ship terminal if you came into Barbados on Thomson.

  • @BenBrowner No, reverse thrust is used on 90% of landings, nothing to do with runway length. I see 737s landing at Heathrow and they give a bit of reverse thrust.

  • thats late reverse thurust

  • buyed the company :L its bought.. horrible landing btw

  • by the way its not first choise anymore its thomson now so even if you see planes with first choise on does not mean its the airline Thomson fly has buyed the company :)

  • @airlineman2606 Yes I do know, it says thomson airways in the description.

  • thats when you fly with pilots who like to let the aircraft perform the landing. It's called a ILS CAT III C landing.

  • @vjbcat I flew there on Virgin in a 747 the month before this, made a much better landing! You cant tell me that was a pot hole!

  • @rachaelmatt do you know what the conditions were that day

  • @Aviationnation10 Perfect hardly a breeze and barely a cloud in the sky!

  • Seemed a little heavy on the landing, probably not enough flare, speed seemed about ok.

I don't know if reverse thrust is mandatory in the carribean, but as far as I know its optional by the Pilots, and here in the UK you're only allowed whats called 'Idle Reverse' - reverse buckets open but idle thrust. Its just used to shorten rollout distance, so if theres enough runway you may not need it.

  • @tannagra your allowed more than idle reverse if you want its only at some times ie late at night when there may be a restriction to idle reverse due to noise unless of course there is an emergency. More then idle reverse is used sometimes to limit the heat caused by the breaks and such decrease your turnaround time.

  • I have seen worse.

  • @iPilot747 Oh i've seen worse, but i've had alot better!

  • did u get shot down lol

  • im going with thomson, i hope i dont get put on a first choice aircraft like alot of people said they did in the reviews. i heard that they are in great need of a refurb and the leg room is poor, is that true

  • @trollydodger No, I must say having been on both Thomson and First Choice aircraft's, the legroom on both is very good! If any thing the First Choice is nicer inside, it has leather seats in economy. There not a bad airline, just need to improve on their landings sometimes! LOL

  • @rachaelmatt ok, thank you. did you go early to the airport because im just wondering, is it hard to get a seat at the sides and not in the middle because i do NOT want to sit in the middle row seats lol. thanks for the cool video anyway, those landings are just as fun as feeling the pressure in the flare on smoother landings haha :D

  • @trollydodger Erm, we did to go out get there early I meen, cuz it was a 9am take off we stayed in a hotel at Gatwick the night b4, so checked in the evening b4. But on the way home, our transfere was late, and we were last to check in, and they double booked our seats and we had no window. Thats why there isn't a video for the return flight.

  • @rachaelmatt oh right, thats gutterin, that would be my nightmare lol

  • @trollydodger Tell me about it! I nearly cried! LOL

  • owwwfff

  • @devilishandsweet Its bad because this is a pilot who has paid thousands of pounds to train and become a pilot, must have spent years flying that type of aircraft and in perfect weather conditions thats the best he can do!!! Thats why its bad!

  • No offense but he's not a very good Stewart Cos he didn't mention the smoking system :/

  • @Keelz7196 He did say at 3:38 remember no smoking til outside the terminal

  • Reverse thrusters only come when the nose gear touches down.

  • No flair!

I had a landing like that with first choice in an A-321 so hard the overhead lockers came open and peoples bags went flying everywhere! infact the whole flight was poor

  • @05u16hep Trust me, it was painful sat on 1 for 9hrs all the way to the caribbean!

  • First Choice? LAST CHOICE!!...

  • i should be making a video on my landing in barbados in a week for 3 weeks lawl

  • @MrMillzy991 Cool, a few months ago I had just over 3 weeks in the Maldives!

  • obviously not very pro. that landing was really rough and you are right about the reverse thrust...

  • I just love that landing song hahaha! "I'm crazzyyy!! for..."

  • landed on worse - agreed was hard but not the worst I experienced!

  • what's that trail of smoke that passes under the wing at 0:11 ?

  • @rolfen Its not smoke its vapour, from the air inside the engine.

  • what da hell was dat when u landed

  • @devontrainfreak A bump!

  • lol After that landing was that plane capable of flying again? lol ha ha

  • Very good landing. Nah, I am just teasing. :P

  • I went on a first choice plane for the first time i booked with thomson and i flew with first choice and it was a VERY BAD landing compared to others

  • I think airplanes are beautiful although i wet myself nearly (not happy) i wanna scream when i get on the plane thought xD. I went Ibiza last year and 2 months after i went I went again xD

  • Cool!! Im going to the Maldives in april, so I will be hopefully making a few great videos out of that plane.

  • Was this linked to a p&o cruise or Princess cruise? x

  • The flight was a special cruise flight for people going on Ocean Village, 90% of people on the flight were going straight to the ship when they landed, but we were'nt on the cruise, we were staying for 2 weeks in Barbados

  • The 767's a beautiful aircraft. Such a shame to land it like that.

  • I know it was going to be a nice holiday, until we all broke our backs landing. LOL no it was good fun :)

  • Oh.. It seems as if he forgot to flare on landing. Also, the reverse thrusters aren't initiated later, because the front wheel must first be down.

  • did they pop a tire?

  • No LOL :) well I dont think so.

  • aight i live in Barbados and in all my years of arriving here i have never seen such a poor landing.....he must've been the reason the runway was resurfaced.

  • what did the pilot have against you?!

  • holy crap, thats a crap landing!!! You hit the ground with some force!!! Geese

  • Well at least the plane is still in one piece, right? ;)

  • just loved it:p i just got my private pilot license.. and trust me at my stage, this landing makes me reaaaaly proud of my landings:p

  • I was there about a month after you

    I loved it :]!

  • Its a great place is'nt it!!! I loved it 2. I went 2 years on in a row. Last January and the January b4 that. But not this year cuz i have exams. But im going to the maldives in april, so i will get some videos out of the plane, on those flights.

  • what was the reps important announcement that u all had to wait on the aircraft for?

  • @frasercarle because the flight was a special cruise flight. Most people were going straight to the ship. It was just about what they were doing. But we were'nt going on a cruise so it didnt matter for us.

  • ocean village <3 xD

  • Wow! That was one immense bump on landing! Looks like he was coming in too fast and a bit too deep. You can hear someone say 'BLOODY HELL' in the background!! hahahhahaha! Great vid m8!!

  • Yes was a bit of bump. That bloody hell was my step mum. LOL

  • Also, did you know that First Choice is now Thompson airways after that merger?

  • Yes i did, but i like the first choice livery, so until they all have new paint job i'll call em first choice. Also it says in the description. BTW thomson has'nt got a P in it. LOL :)

  • Yee, I keep forgetting! I got loads of Pictures of Exeter from Last year with First Choice, Futura (R.I.P.) and Flybe jets. I gotta upload them sometime!

  • Jesus BIG bump!!!!

  • i bet "First Choice" is the "first choice" anymore

  • you mean first choice is'nt the first choice anymore??

  • yup lol idc choose any airline u like im just saying as a joke!

  • Looks like he set the throttles to idle to high up. Resulting The BUMP! love it thoug 5/5

  • now captain of that 767 that just landed go pick up whats left of your landing gear and kindly remove it from the runway

  • yep LOL that'll be hard its embedded in the runway :)

  • ouch that was a bad landing i felt that but barbados is a great place

  • yes, after that landing i needed the beach to lay on LOL

  • yeah, he really just slammed it onto the runway! nice video though!

  • thanks yeah it was a bit of a rough 1 LOL but all worth it being in such a great place :)

  • Has anyone noticed that there is several types of cabin during landing/approach

    1) Talking

    2) Quiet

    3) Baby Crying

    4) Quiet with a little coughing

  • This one seems to be quiet lol

  • yes hahaah

  • Great video! Yeah that was a bumpy landing, it reminded me off Flybe cause when we was landing in Newquay from Gatwick that was bad like this.

  • Love the action of the flight control systems on the wing. Nice video!

  • Great video.... A*

  • Yeah that's pretty rough. But a 767 can be a bitch with some annoying winds/shear. And judging on the aileron/spoileron movement there was enough to play with.

  • Fantastic video - very well done 5*

Ohh what seat were you in?

  • we were in row 26, and i was in seat G right next to the window

  • Thanks

  • Also, what seat were you in on the way there?

  • nice video

  • I notice how the flaps were going up and down a lot on ur decent? That probably contibuted to your bad landing! Definately a bad bump there, I'd say it was absolutely to do with the wing flaps!

  • The flaps going up and down were actually the low speed ailerons.

  • were the wings ment to go up like that because every plane i have been on have never done that ?

  • what do you mean like the flap bits that come up just after touch down? If you ment them then yes they shud always come up on every plane, there called speed brakes btw, and they are just supposed to slow the plane down

  • They are not speed brakes and they don't slow the plane down they are called "spoilers" and they spoil the air flow over the wing, this decreasing lift and putting more weight on the wheels thus aiding in braking.

  • every pilot i know i calls them speed brakes, also ive got so many videos taken from in the flight deck whilst landing and they all say "speed brakes armed" just before landing

  • They are called speed breaks in the air and spoilers on the ground. Ask any pilot ;)

  • thanks i didnt know that. I have a dvd taken in the flight deck on a virgin jumbo and they said speed brakes so thats y i just thought speed brakes, i also have a video of an easyjet landing at gatwick from on it

  • Nice vid... And yes, pretty hard landing... Weird that he didn´t flared...

  • cheers glad you like the video, in a few days i will be putting on 2 more out of the window on here, take off from inverness and landing at gatwick, then nxt week to and from dublin and im gunna video out the window on all them flights LOL :)

  • re watching the video he was a little to fast, thats why it was hard landing :')

  • Quite a hard landing i must say, landed they're a few times on a virgin atlantic 747 and it was fine, hope you had a goos holiday there!

  • BADDD landing, what was the important announcement??????

  • duno what the important annoucment was, because they annoyed us because we wernt goin on a cruise but they assumed we were and told us to stay seated so we just stood up and walked off cuz we didnt need to know bout a cruise cuz we wernt on 1. Stupid first choice

  • crosswinds i think made that a bad landing?

  • maybe but i dont think so, because we wasnt wobbling at all before touch down and it wasnt windy when we had disembarked the aircraft, but its possible, barbados is to nice a place to have bad weather on landing, only joking lol :)

  • Yeh no flare becuase you couldn't seee the wing tilt slightly

  • That's called no flare.

  • was a pretty crap touch down. or smack down, what ever you want to call it, my step mum found it quite funny.

  • HARD!!!!

  • yes it was pretty hard my worst landing i have ever experienced

  • Yep hard landing but there is one thing u can say: Any succesful landing is a good landing

  • yeah thats wat i fink if you havent died then its ok. and wen you think of it a landing is just a controlled crash.

  • yeah i suppose and i just landed the Level D 767 at Barbados 10 mins ago .I took off Miami International and landed at barbados at dusk>it was First Choice and it was very succesful and soft.(Flight simulator)
