An IPS is supposed to be a pious job(though people don't take it like that).An IPS grows from quite low job..from a probationer who takes charge of a police station to a DGP who may take charge of whole state or a paramilitary force.A lot of power is vested in these officers but again sad thing is that most of them don't exercise them properly.Still I have faith in Indians and i would love to see our IPS officers serving the nation and not just fighting in PHQ for good post.

is this for reals???most of the ips officers are fat and out of shape and have a bad aim.I used to represent my state at nationals for pistol shooting.and have seen most of the ips officers with a terrible aim.

In fact most of the martial art training is out dated and over rated.

The written exams are tougher than all this combined.

comin 2 ur doubt abt d spl forcs....bro as far as i got info frm d seniors n read in books....it says, few section of selected officers r put in2 spl team whr they undergo certain spl training such as Adv Firing, combat, OT,CQB etc.. which is 2 b thought by Para n othr spl forces 2CPF,STF n othr operational forces for whom d job is assigned with..

so, if u r well deserved, thn they themselves pick u n promote u 2 undergo those training n assign u with imp tasks 2 Accomplish..

Hi Bro, . I must say you have done a great job! I am also a IPS aspirant. I cleared the prelims of 2009 and am awaiting the result for Mains. Have you given the attempt this year? In one of ur comment you mentioned about selected IPS also undergoing commando training, as I am very interested in Special Forces please could you elaborate on that. Awaiting ur reply.

Bro.....u need 2 go through Entrance exam which is conducted by UPSC, to get into d service (Civil).....n as far as ur elgibility, u can apply during ur final yr of degree or once completed....for more info check with some UPSC Guide book......

Both ARMED PERSONNELS n IPS OFFICERS are capabale of ANYTHING n EVERYTHING.....n wat u see as training here is not full fledged training so take a chill..

when u enter d organisation, u will come 2 learn more..

Even Police Perssonels undergoes ARMED FORCES COMMANDOS training...

but those are given only for few selected ones, who are selected among the best n assigned with major big operations..

so both the KHAKI personnels Rock...Hmm
