I assure you I'm not as sick as u think and I won't do any damage to my voice :) I've been off my antibiotics for a few days now and I'm soooooooo much better. It always just takes a little longer for my voice to be 100%, and I hate when it sounds all thick.

Molly, You have a remarkable singing talent that I love to pieces, but now I'm worried. Is what lili1001 said true? I don't sing, can't sing, scare people when I sing, so I don't know, but if singing when you're sick can damage your voice, PLEASE STOP! Take care of that treasure of a voice that God has given you. I couldn't tell that you were sick either, but I want to hear you singing for years and years to come. Hope you feel better soon.

Hmm, I knew a singer once, who used to whisper only each time she had a sore throat, because she said singing with an infection would damage your vocal chords and make your voice permanently scratchy.

Actually, I don't even know if it's true... I just never questioned it because it made sense to me! :D

Thank u so much for worrying lili100l, but I wantto clear up that myth.

Whispering when you're sick or really at all is far more damaging to your voice than talking normally. It puts alot of strain on your vocal chords. I only know this beacause I lost my voice once and had to see a specialist who scoped my vocal chords and told me all the ways we strain our voices daily. I was on vocal rest for 2 months! Not fun... but now I know how to protect it :)
