ohmygoshh this video was so helpful! my hs jazz band is playing 'the girl from ipanema', and i really have no idea how to play samba rhythms on guitar, but this definitely gave me an idea of what i need to practice! thank you :)
Great video Steve, thanx! just a favor... could you post the names of the chords you use at the beginning? for the changes to triste? I would really aprecciate it! Thanx
Great to see some focus on the rhythmic aspect. So much guitar teaching is in straight 1/8s and triplets. These are overlooked aspects of playing. Great job and thanks.
Awesome! I will be forwarding this to my jazz guitar students. If you have the opportunity to catch Steve live, Don't Miss Him!...the cat is deep! Although he has great technical facility, you never feel like your watching a "technician", instead, you feel that he is a true, heartfelt musician!
Steve is one of the finest and most respected Guitarist Philadelphia has ever produced. He is an excellent teacher. I've followed him for years and wish him continued sucess.
omanomanomanoman.....thanks so much bro. i've been trying to learn samba for the past few weeks, and breaking down the rhythm has made it really hard for me to play along to alot of songs i like.
