At the time {CBS, Tuesdays, 9:30-10pm(et)}, Jack was sponsored on alternate weeks by State Farm Insurance Company [his primary sponsor during the last five years of his weekly series], and, betweeen 1962 and '64, his old radio sponsor, General Foods {"J-E-L-L...O!", Minute Rice, etc.}. Don't forget the "integrated" commercial in the middle, featuring Jack plugging his "sponsor of the week"! At the end, he'd say, "Good night, folks- see you next week for State Farm Insurance" or "..for Jell-O".
@fromthesidelines Those integrated commercials on the Jack Benny Program bring back the sweetest memories for me. (Trying to figure out my age----NOW CUT THAT OUT, LOLOLOLOL).
I so remember this lovely jingle.
Pop quiz-March 5, 1963 was a tragic day in the music industry. Why?
