It's gotten rid of a lot of scratches but there might have been one or two really deep scratches I had trouble with. (Kind of hard to remember since there were also a couple of discs with subtle manufacturer defects.)

A new one sells for about $130.

I have a JFJ Easy Pro Universal CD/DVD Repair Machine. It's just a simple spinning solution with a couple pads and some buffing/polishing gels.

I'm actually not sure about the details on both. I guess I could dig up my tax information and find out on the income, though I don't think I want to post that information on the internet.

Maybe the amount spent on my collection is between 65k and 75k?

According to Anime Planet, that's a rather accurate guess. It's currently at 12,517 episodes watched. Whether or not that number is accurate, your guesstimate was great. :)

I prefer dubs because it's easier to multitask. They're really not that bad, especially if you're into the series.

You mean buying anime DVDs? Nothing really life affirming to me. I just really enjoy it and enjoy being obsessive about certain things. The anime obsession has simply gone on far longer than any other.

Dragon Ball Kai (DVD title Dragon Ball Z Kai) is basically Dragon Ball Z heavily edited to be far more focused on telling the primary story. Pretty much, the goal is to re-tell the entire 293 episode Dragon Ball Z in 100 episodes.

Based upon the first DVD (13 episodes), I'm really enjoying what they're doing with it (even if I do miss some of the side-stories... E.G. Princess Snake.)

I have both. Definitely enjoyed Host Club a lot. Nabari No Ou, I'm not as sure about.

Overall, I prefer dubs since I'm usually doing something else at the same time. (Dubs make it easier to do two things at once, usually.)

i think it had potential but still kinda failed, and id preferd if it was dubed by a different company; their tones just werent serious enough for the art style

The reason for that is because hellgirls eason 1 wasn't sell well so the dubbing company decided not to dub season 2 or 3

@syoyoxoxo Although I don't think everything is on there, I've made a DVD Aficionado account under the Nadian name. Right now it says I have: 2212 titles 2159 dvds 3583 discs I'm not sure which number makes the most sense to use? If we go by my custom DVD collection text file, there's: 2142 titles 3508 volumes 3542 discs 3111 "fair" counting

You got some awesome stuff this week! Definitely getting Kenichi Season 1. Glad I held out on "part" dvds. But yeah that dubbing error on Kanokon was odd. I might hold out on buying in hopes that they'll notice the error and correct it.

Maybe they will. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody is face-palming after seeing it, but mistakes are inevitable. That it's the only dubbing error I've seen like that is a pretty good track record, imo. :)
