Bar soap is the most economical by far. I buy a 8 pack of Irish Spring for $3.50 and it'll last a couple of months. If I buy the liquid Irish Spring for $4.00 the bottle will last a month...and with liquid you have to buy those annoying "poofs" to get any lather and they aren't as sanitary as wash clothes that you can switch out every few days.

@SantaTheHo Fortunately the machine will detect that there's an empty nest and the box at the corresponding loading location will be routed to the reject bin. If the box somehow ended up being passing anyway, there's another capacitive test at the end to make sure a bar is present in each box.

@Mikerosoftt I can't get liquid soap to lather like I need it to. Using a bar soap on a wash cloth I can get that thing lathery like you wouldn't believe and I can do the whole body with it before it gets unlathery.

There are some exceptions. If I'm really dirty, then it unlathers pretty quickly. And some soap doesn't lather adequately, so I have to re-lather by the time I get to my left leg.

@TheSquididle126 It's not just animal fat! But anyway, soap basically just makes it so grease can be washed away with water. So where the grease on your hands would usually just repel water, when you have soap, the grease dissolves in the soap, then water can rinse it away.
