@hugecookiemonster. Thank you. This video is from before I changed the steam valve and stearm arm. This Giotto is from 2000 and a lot has happened since then. I have another video in here with steaming after the replacement. The newer Rockets have much more steam power.
@TerribleTony. Yes, I know. Original sound had background music with copyright, so it was taken out by YouTube. Check my other video - they have original sound ;-)
Sweet. Thinking of getting an SJ. Found a great deal when buying one with a machine. Now I am trying to decide between VBM DoubleDomo and Isomac Mondiale. Happy pulling!
@jackal2513 Are you referring to what he does BEFORE tamping? If so, that's referred to as the Stockfleths move. He already mitigated the tendency of the Mazzer doser to "throw left" by rotating the PF during dosing but he can further ensure even distribution with this technique. It has definitely helped me reduce channeling "donut" extractions by producing a slightly heavier distribution along the perimeter. Also great if you downdose.
Look forward to the Giotto! It's one of the most temp stable prosumer HX's and requires only very short cooling flushes. I take it your getting a Giotto Premium or even the new Rocket Giotto. Steaming on these are much improved over my old Giotto.
@CoffeeSlave01 Ok I will check out your other videos. I have a 1 group commercial Brasilia Roma Cappuccino.
I only have a video of my Gaggia Classic up at the moment but will get one up of this machine.
Regards
Chris

Good video!
Do the Rockets really take that long to steam milk?
My machine steams in less than half that and the boiler is only 0.2 litres bigger than yours.

Hi, do you back flush after every shot or just once a day??
Cheers W
valicourt 1 year ago
@valicourt . A quick water back flush after each consecutive shot(s). Chemical back flush once a week.

Whats with the music, much prefer to hear the sound of the grinder and espresso machine. Would also liked it more had you zoomed in on the pull.

Yes it's simply wiping grinds off the rim of basket.
CoffeeSlave01 2 years ago
nice equipment
whats all that repetitive stuff you do with your fingers around the basket edge ?
wiping the grind away from here takes one single movement and then its done ???

Hi that's a Mazzer Mini hopper you on on the SJ?
Did it need to be modded in anyway or?....
AlienSexDog 2 years ago
The Mini hopper fits right in. No modification neccessary.

I love my Giotto and it is the best investment we've
made. Friends & family always love when we treat them for a espresso, latte or a cappuccino.
Recently, the other side for hot water is plugged up somehow and I hardly ever use the hot water.
I may need to have it serviced.
have had it for years and still operates beautiful and will NOT live without one!!
If you love espresso coffee's this is the best thing to have in YOUR kitchen.

This is great, you got great routine and feeling.
I can't see if any latte-art turned up in the cup, but I would take it alittle slower on the pour :)...
felixthalen 2 years ago
Thanks!
No latte art was intended as I'm still struglin' with it. Will get there eventually ;-)
If interested check out the newest modifications to the setup in my latest video.

awesome vid!
loved all the little things that some people dont do. i.e flushing the steam wand and water, also cleaning the wand and drip tray after use.
at least some one knows how to take care of this little beauty.
