In the majin saga Trunks was born with the power to go SSJ,all his forms are about half the power of future Trunks,he grows randomly through out DB so the chances of GT Trunks being stronger than Future Trunks is high because he doesn`t train and his power raises with out much training.(When GT trunks was fighting 17,17 caught trunks off gaurd and Trunks wasn`t trying to fight 17 but save his driver.

no ascended ssj ( ultra ) increases its bulkiness to give that person more power which is great ,but has HUGE withdraw , which is lack of speed , according to goku but with ssj2 its like an internal ascended form, that breaks every limit in its body,meaning more speed, power , stamina. which is also why ssj2 has lightning surrounding its body & because they have an boost in all 3, it makes each blow devastating , so ssj2 version will always be superior. & yes both are ascended
