These three remind me of my Kegan. He's been my best friend for the past 10 years since I got him when I was twelve. I don't get to see him all of the time because of being away at college but I keep a picture close by me at all times and spend as much time as I can when I am home. He's my first dog and I just think Setters are the best.

my Irish setter is so cute! He loves to hunt and kill anything that comes into our yard that he was bred to kill. he is also very sweet and bites the other dogs if they come to close to me(he only does that to me). and i love him to bits and pieces. the best part is hes only 2 or 3!!!

I miss my Irish red, I've found this video through my moms you-tube channel by accident.

That dog was real family to us, his name was Ritchie of the hunters home. He was 13 when we unfortunately had to put him to rest because of some weakness in the backlegs age 13. What a sweet dog that was, with character.

God bless the Irish setters. Nice video, it brought back some memories after 15 years.

@staceyswo ..I know what you mean, unfortunately our setter died about ten years ago of old age, still miss him. He was a well bred Irish, the best dutch breeder was where we bought him (I am dutch). A beautiful, well mannered and friendly dog. He became family, even had his own chair in the house... the best friend I had. Through joy and painful times. Like a brother.

@ricotermonen  Since I last commented on this video, we have gotten another Setter named Cassie. She has such a sweet, boisterous personality. We spent a year without a dog and it was miserable....but we needed that time to get over Penny. Did you end up getting another dog or animal in the last 10 years? I have a friend who just moved from the Netherlands back to the US. She loved it there....

@staceyswo ..no I didn't get me another dog, because my agenda is pretty full, back in the day we cared for Ritchie with all four of us. It wouldn't be fair to the dog to be alone for longer hours or less walkarounds, since I am alone now. Especially setters need a lot of activity. Maybe one day a setter wil be mine again when I have more time and space. And yes, a lot of people like Holland.

Must admit that the video brought some tears to my eyes. I had many dogs but none like my last one, an irish setter. Had more character than most people and a heart of gold but the courage of a lion when he felt the family threatened in any way. Since he died 13 years ago (at the repectable age of 15) I haven't gotten myself another dog. And probably never will. Setters are special - still gives me the blues thinking about him after all that time.
