@Blowtorch1964 The 1968 riots during the national Democratic Convention you refer to weren't in Detroit but in Chicago. The MC5 (an unsigned band at the time) played in Lincoln Park, Chicago, before the riots started. And Motor City Is Burning wasn't even written by the MC5, it's a song by John Lee Hooker (who lived in Detroit, although originally from Mississippi, of course) & the song is not about the 1968 riots at all, but a so-called "race" riot in Detroit in 1967
