uhmm well its an iPod touch, soo it cant call people, that would be an iPhone, and yes the internet is free all you need is a wireless connection or be in a hot spot, example( Star bucks, they have wireless internet there it would be called a hot spot,)  i have wireless internet at home cause i have a laptop soo yeah all you u need is wifi and yer Good.

yeah you can just turn the volume rocker switch all the way down or just connect headphones to them...all the sound will be redirected into the earphones
