  • I know the 5 year old girl whos jump roping in the red shirt, she's really cool

  • omg my comment from a year ago is still here

even though it was more like 2.5 :/

  • love the song but hate the video - American's do not need Canadians to point out the faults within our capitol city - there are real problems in DC but it seems insulting that they pointed it out - there are problems in every large city in every country

  • get over it, all they did was point out facts. The reason they made a video about it was because DC has the highest murder rate.

  • @coreycleve i wasn't complaining, i'm well aware of the murder rate in DC however no large city is without problems and to make a commentary on a city your band really has nothing to do with could be taken as insulting. the murder city sparrows are from edmonton, and that city has problems too, ones that i would hit a little closer to home for the guys. i just think the video was pointing a finger instead of looking out your own back door.

  • @jkautzgacke

People can write about anything they think is wrong.

it's just the fact that they decided to base it on DC.

This song could be about anywhere in this forsaken world.

  • @jkautzgacke yes you do.

you don't realise all the stupid shit you're country is involved in.

your country is what is wroung with this world

  • I heard Murder City Sparrows one year at ED FEST in Edmonton, I loved their sound, and loved their lyrics. I was dissapointed to never hear of them coming back to Edmonton since.

  • I met Lenny Today! He was my music teacher bahha.

He signed my drum stick, and he gave me a hug ;]

    ..Lenny Maskell is awesome.

  • lemme guess you go to ardrossan elementary school?

  • lol, I did a longgggg time ago, when I was in grade 6, now i'm pimpin in grade 10 :D

  • ... who is this?

  • jay sparrow one is the nicest individuals I have ever encountered other then "the lanny"

  • lanny is my grade 6 teachers son SERIOUSLY

  • oh yes...

    good joint..good video...

  • After one view, this song is stuck in my head, eliciting a desire to watch it again and again, as if it were pornographic.

  • This band isent noticed by a lot of people but I belive there music should be herd it's actually good stuff...

  • welcome to my nieghborhood. You want to kill me, you have to come here and visit me. Make sure you dont get lost.

  • he he

  • My statement might have been a bit too strong. Your exactly right - it is a free country, but people are losing there rights.

  • There is more than one type of freedom and there are degrees to which you can have it. This is no simple binary switch of either being "free" or "not free" and nothing in-between.

America is generally a mostly free country but not entirely so.

This is not a competition or contest, though some insist on erroneously seeing it as such. The objective here is NOT to have "the nicest dictator" or "be tortured less often than anywhere else" or have "the least terrible suffering".

  • The objective is to have no dictators, no torture, no oppression, no poverty and no suffering at all. For anywhere on this planet.

This is not a relative measurement, it's absolute.

America might even be #1 in freedom for its citizens in comparison to anyone else on Earth but that still does not mean it's truly free.

  • Some things are absolute.

Does your country torture people? Does your country have poverty? Those are plain "yes or no" questions and if the answer is not "no" then your country is not yet a truly free country (whatever country that might be, as the same criteria applies to all countries of the world, not just America).

  • To echo Churchill, Western democracy and freedom is the worst possible system there is, except for all the other far worse systems that ever been tried. NONE of them are good enough.

But, one day, that WILL change. As it already did for slavery, serfdom, equal suffrage, civil rights, civil liberties, etc.

It might be slow, due to fear, denial and self-interest dragging its feet, but we are getting better.

It is inevitable because nothing less than that is acceptable.

  • "it already did for slavery, serfdom, equal suffrage, civil rights, civil liberties, etc"

-yes this is really important to remember. It makes apathy seem silly.

-I think the reason why things will change is more complicated then nothing less be acceptable. but I do think things are changing.

  • very true, good point

  • @KlaxonCow bullshit.

  • Everyone who thinks the USA is a truly free country should see this.

  • Get the RealNews

  • We should be more aware of this kind of thing

  • What a world we live in

  • A very unfair one
