@wyattmcelroy hahahahaha I love it when people put other people in their place with cold hard facts and all they can say is "yeah but he sucks" kudos.
i remember mangino crying about the refs after this game... dude, if your defense cant stop a QB running for a first down on 4TH AND 18?!?! you dont deserve to win the game... you rushed 3 guys which meant 8 guys were dropped into coverage with probably 5 or 6 (if not all) guys between vince and the first down marker... suck failure freak!
vince young is fucking clutch. seriously, this guy is so fun to watch. That 99 yard drive...omg i still get chills watching that drive...im not even a texans or titans fan but u got to give it to him
i remember watching this torture of a game. i was back in 4rth grade, knowing we would lose to the jayhawks. i almost had a heart attack when he made the first down.
they couldn't stop vy on 4th 18, so no they shouldn't have won. the team that makes the plays when the chips are on the table deserves to win the game.
@des696969 but he never pulled his team out of situations like this on a regular basis. sure, they had the leinart push, but other than that game, give me one instance in which reggie was forced to perform amazingly because the rest of his team wasn't consistent?
@BiggerBango reggie was never forced to perform was because that usc team was much stronger to the point where they were never put in that kind of jam to begin with compared to texas.. I'm not disagreeing with you though personally I feel reggie should of got the heisman over leinart in 04 and vy gets it in 05.. Both were deserving imo and it's a shame both of them had probably the most insane highlights college football has ever seen.
@des696969 that's exactly the point i'm trying to make. I see the heisman as more of a MVP award than anything, and reggie, while i'll agree was indispensable to usc, doesn't compare to the value VY had to texas. That said, I would've picked reggie over any other player IN THE DECADE. (That includes Tebow, who I don't think is as great as people let on) If I wasn't such a hardhead when it comes to texas, I would really appreciate reggie
but vince young would have beaten Ohio State and Kanss State and A&M. but im not sure about Gilbert yet. he does have an amazinly strong arm but he ran the sme roll out and throw play in high school. if Gilbert learns the system half as well as McCoy did then he will be 3 in a row for great QBs.

I like how everyone gives me a thumbs down for telling it like it is. Lol. Bias-nation I hear your roar! But look, The guy was unbelievable at the college level, just like Tim Tebow. But neither of them have NFL careers, because you cant just scramble 30 yards when you want to on NFL defenses. You can give me thumbs down all you want, but im just logical
don't get mad when you get verbally beatdown for being a bloody vag. most of the people watching these videos are fans of young's. of course they are going to downvote you.
Agreed... Why do people keep posting crap about VY's NFL career on these COLLEGE highlights... I don't think there's much of a debate that he's one of the best college players of all time and that's what we are enjoying here...
If I'm not mistaken tony romo did run for more than 30 yards for a first down against the rams and got a first down regardless of the fact he is nowhere near as quick or agile as vince. Also in vinces first season he had a td run over 30 yards for the win against the texans.
@Jim62787 hmm he's not good right... Fantasy football magazine ranks him the 22nd best quarterback? and he won rookie of the year? made the madden 08 cover, and took the titans off of a 0-6 start, he sure sucks
@Jim62787 yeah seriously im from austin and i watched vince young in like 5th grade and thought he was the best player ever and he was for college level but now his legs are gone he cant make those plays because defenses wont let him
@Jim62787 yeah seriously im from austin and i watched vince young in like 5th grade and thought he was the best player ever and he was for college level but now his legs are gone he cant make those plays because defenses wont let him but still he can throw pretty damn well
Wow i remember watching this, it saved us from goin to the freakin holiday bowl again. VY simply the greatest college player ever, no one will match his talent along with his composure and ability to make plays in clutch moments.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
lol. "wow you just realized that?" ....... what? Vince rides the bench at Tennessee Titans. He is one of the worst pocket passers in the league. How could you blame someone for not knowing he has talent, after the latest he has shown is garbage? His whole career is pretty much over
Don't get me wrong, Reggie Bush was so impressive week in and week out that year. But Vince was so clutch, and that clip proves it. That's why he deserved the Heisman over Reggie Bush.
kansas wins the most games they have in 40 years and they think they can talk lol...Texas will stomp KU this season w/out Jamaal Charles and Limas Sweed.
I remember watching this and saying damn VY is so damn good. But don't forget guys that the Kansas offensive pass interference lead to Texas getting the ball and luckily enough wiped out a Kansas first down.
The fat man can bitch all he wants about that call, but it was the correct call. Also, if you give up 4th and 18 on a QB scramble...well, you deserve to lose. That's why they're Kansas though. They suck.
I wouldn't be saying Kansas sucks, they did whoop up on Texas when they came down last year and did win the Orange Bowl but Texas always can recruit well and knows how to win bowl games unlike OU does. Last, Kansas hasn't been the great winner as Texas has been for the last 10 years.
The last time Kansas played Texas, Texas was up 52-0 at half and won 66-14. Kansas didn't play Texas last year, dumbass. They didn't play anybody but Missouri and Virginia Tech. Fatmangino sucks.
Yeah he sucks alright with the talent he had last night and got them to a Orange Bowl and won it. Mangino is a good coach not in the class like Mack Brown or Bob Stoops, but you can't deny the fact that he is a good coach. He doesn't have the luxury of getting great talent like in Texas or Oklahoma like the Texas Schools and OU does. Mangino got Kansas from being a pushover to a good team. It doesn't matter who they faced, they won all their games except one last year and they got in.
Exactly. It's not his fault he got the schedule he had last year. But lets pretend Oklahoma or Texas had the schedule Kansas did last year. They won all their games and then lost to Missouri, and didn't even make the Big XII Title Game. I can guarantee you that they'd sneak into the National Title Game over LSU because of their record. Kansas should've been there too. And I stand behind that 100%
This is what going to happen in the Big 12 North this its either going to be Missouri or Kansas in the Big 12 title game against whoever wins Oklahoma v. Texas game. Still the Big 12 North is resurging after being a laughing stock 3 years ago.
Yeah I saw the game but the Big 12 North is still pretty good but they still have to play Missouri that's ranked high, Oklahoma State which is never easy, then Texas Tech in Lubbock whose going to be ranked high too. Then you got to go to Kansas in Lawrence. The Longhorns have to go run the gauntlet and if they get their unscathed then they deserve to be #1. Now if they lose one game after playing those teams that's still pretty good. They still have a long long way to go.
the familiar sound of that guy's voice has me ready for U.T. football already! we're gonna miss jammal but I think we are going to the big 12 championship.
I disagree. If we were playing high schools last year like you, we'd be 12-1 too. Y'all are about to go back to being an afterthought to the basketball team like usual.
what is this shit about KU playing high school teams? If your gonna put it like that, then UT has lost twice in a row to the same "high school" team (Kansas State) that KU has beaten the last two years in a row. And if i remember correctly, didnt UT almost lose to Arkansas state? On OPENING DAY?? At least if KU really did play "high school" teams they wouldnt almost lose to them.
I see KU having 4 or 5 losses this year. USF, OU, Texas, Tech, and Mizzou. I also see Mangino having a hear attack and or bypass surgery and making gay excuses like the one he made after this game. y'all just get ready for basketball season.
VT was just off their game at the Orange Bowl. But it will be a great game either way. Our new D-Coordinator will get our defense going, so I think this will be a low-scoring game.
