btw, just for the fact, the little boy at the start is torres strait, he is not a aboriginal. Torres Strait Islanders are the indigenous people of the Torres Strait Islands. They are culturally and genetically linked to Melanesian peoples and those of Papua New Guinea.
You know what, I think the 747 looked better at the end. Don't get me wrong, I love the A380, and it's my favourite plane, but it just doesn't look as right as the 747.
i went for my 40 th birthday to australia and still call this country home...i miss him a lot and i hate where i live....look forward to fly back to aussieland soon...miss u downunderxxxx
I don't really like the service of this airline, but the song of their Ads are amazing!!! The seats on A380 are really comfy and their On:Q was fantastic!! Just, please! Be nice to those who are not white, especially the stewardess!! The stewards were friendly thou.
Go fuck yourself!! Your not even Australian. Do we speak that language here in Australia? NO! So go take Your imported ass back to where you come from!!
Actually I think you will find that language was spoken here long before English was. What imported Arse (spelt the right way that Australian's spell it) are you talking about? The English that imported their unwanteds here or the people that found their way here about 60,000 years before them?
I traveled to Australia in December of 2009. What a magnificent experience. Thank you for uploading this video and helping me keep those memories alive and joyful.
god are we not all australians we should all learn to get along with each other and not be so stubborn and maybe people should forget about the past to certain degree and move forward as one nation and one people as australian not several different people race or religions
Are you still banging on about this ad? get a life! it's people like YOU that keep the Aborigines separate from the rest of Australian society. Waves of migrants have integrated into our society, because they choose to. But people like you refuse to have a bar of it. Not our fault...
about time - 3 years after the first ad which had NO aboriginal children at all. and apartf rom this beautiful rendition of a favourite song i think QANTAS is frightful - they ruined my holiday leaving my sick child and i to wait 5 hours!!! for assistance on the floor of the airport . the 4 year old had to push the luggage trolley. we fly emirates.
so your basing the whole country and its airlines on one little flight problem... get over it! ive caught only quantas and ive had bad and good trips.. its life hun, get used to it!
You know it's a good ad when you get constant shivers down your spine. When every hair on your arm stands up and your eyes begin to water. An amazing ad, far better than any tourism ad could deliver. The children in this ad are amazing and the Torres Straight Islander is superb.
Read that there is a television special on the history of the I Still Call Australia Home campaign airing on Saturday August 29 at 4.30pm on Channel 7. Any chance that it can be posted on this channel?
Peace, Love, Light, Blessings & Gratitude 2 all who's loving energy is sweeping the world through the healing vibrations of this song, sung by our greatest resource, our children. Auntie Karl-Madjitil Moorna-Singers of Aboriginal songs.
Yes this is the sort of song that needs to be our national anthem or my other choice would be "We Are One, We are Many, and from all the lands on EArth We come-We sing with one voice-We are Australian." If many of us Indigenous Australians can accept the diversity of peoples, who recognise moorditj (Good) country, why can't the original invaders accept.
Woolah, from Perth,Wadjuk country. Congratulations Tyus Loban, Torres Strait Islander lad, U sing so powerfully little one, who appears so large on this, congratulations 2 ur family, their hearts must b bursting with pride & of course congratulations 2 all the children making this fabulous piece of work.I cry whenever I hear or see it. Congratulations 2 QANTAS for their wisdom in choosing this song.
I apologise if I got his name wrong, but I got it from an earlier post from one of his relations, and Thursday Island is in the Torres Strait, therefore he is a Torres Strait Islander as well as a Thursday Islander. However he has done a great job, and please pass on my congratulations to him. Peace & Blessings.
I find this another half arsed attempt to exploit the aboriginals as one of the reasons you travel to Australia, yet do nothing for their welfare or well being.
How many jobs do you give to Aboriginals per year QANTAS?
you're like one of those rabid bitches i see everyday at uni - they never see the good side of anything. isn't it a start that as a nation we're finally mature enough to embrace our multicultural identity? Why not appreciate this great example, instead of making everything about exploitation and suppression? Any Australian who watches this swells with pride at what we've become as a people.
How many Aboriginals want the job? Sure it was white man who wrecked the Aboriginals way of life but there's only so much you can do for them. They get given government housing, yet rip up the floors and sit in the dirt.
Your use of 'they' implies you're a racist bastard, along with every other stereotype you just pulled out of your private school education, and judging by your name your people have been in the country less than 50 years.
There's no 'they' there's only us. And that's why this is patronising rubbish, trying to cash in on the closest thing Australia will ever have to culture.
Most Kooris would prefer a job than handouts, it's a deliberate system that was engineered to keep us down, not help.
How does referring to a specific race as "they" imply that someone is racist? "They" isn't a word which has a secondary meaning, I used it with the intention of addressing Aboriginal Australians. You're clearly proving you've nothing left to say if you've decided to pick up on someones choice of words. You see, I could have said Aboriginal Australians but I chose to say that - no pun or racial undertones intended.
How you say Australia has no culture is almost comical.
Stereotyping aboriginals by saying "They get given government housing, yet rip up the floors and sit in the dirt." would have to be a great indication of your level of intelligence and authority on the subject.
It's not a stereotype -.- . I was speaking of a case I had heard about in recent years i which Aboriginals were given homes, only to pull up the floors and sit on the ground.
It is a fucking stereotype you uneducated buffoon - imagine if I said 'greeks don't deserve to live here because they drive WRX's, wear aftershave and bash people'.
That's a stereotype, exactly what you just said.
Go bury your head in the sand, it's not worth my time talking to you.
Absolutely beautiful commercial. Well done to the Australian Girls Choir, Australian Boys Choir and Indiginous Choirs for producing such fine young singers. I loved the documentary "Coming Home".
While I have to commend Qantas on a beautiful ad, Qantas as a company is substandard. Duck tape holding together seats in Business class, rude customer service. Lift your game Qantas, airlines like Singapore are class leaders, and for the fees Qantas charges, I would expect a lot more.
Well you've heard wrongly skye131924. I've flown Emirates a couple of time across the Tasman and while a good airline, they are not in the same class as Qantas, or one other certain airline which flys the same route.
pyromanizak why don't you call australian home anymore?

This is fun :)

I only speak about my people, Koories. Aboriginal is a scientific word. It's as bad as us calling white people 'homo erectus'.
Now I'm not here to divide, just point out your innate racism. Get back to class & learn something.

And you need to distinguish the difference between racism and simply referring to someone as "they".
