  • excuse me how do i get the lil box thingy that shows the layers?

  • @MrImpounds hey - you will find same options below were you add the layers window , i think its the third in the row click on it to repeat as many as you like :) i hope this helps alittle

  • Wow! you are so QuicK! ! Thanks for your Help andsupport! Love Rachel; >33

  • Oh cool, so all you have to do is add (replace). That was a little unexpected. :O

  • Ahh, this helped me a lot. I don't know what I did right or what everyone else did wrong but mine turned out perfectly, none of the junk in the background.

    *bows to the God* lol

  • @Yapoolasourus & @EVERYONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. Here's how to fix it, go to file -> save as -> (do all of that saving junk...) save -> (click the "save as animation" bubble) export -> THEN!!!! under the frame delay, there's the box where it says "i don't care". Click that and go to "one frame per layer (replace). Save, then voila!! Hope that helps ^.^

  • @ReddNinjaaa You're amazing. This video didn't erase all the previous frames when it switched to the next one, so I did what your comment said, and it worked. Thank you so much :D

  • @ReddNinjaaa you're a life saverrr, i was looking everywhere for a resolution to this problem.. TT

  • @ReddNinjaaa THAAAAAAAAAAAAAANK YOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUU! :'D

  • @ReddNinjaaa I know a lot of people have said it already but, THANK YOU! This is exactly what I needed, you're awesome. ;)

  • It still has that junk in the background D:

    Here is what I did:

    1.Added Alpha Chanel

2.Got rid of the white background

    3.Typed "(repleace)" In the attributes

Then uploaded to tinypic. What did I do wrong???

  • @terrierluv "replace" is how you spell it :) Try again.

  • Heyy!! Say if I clear a Bg too! And wanted to keep it for myself then, Gimp itself to upload to different places!! How do I get that to do it?! If you know what I'm talking about!?!?!?! Anyone?!!! Plzz Everytime I save mines an want to upload it to like Photobucket or like anywhere elses it won't let me use it to do so?!

  • When I try and do this, the beginning frames will still linger as the animation proceeds. I have a horse running, so when the animation is going, the frames showing the horse beginning to run are still showing as the horse proceeds. How do I keep the frames in the back from staying? Background is transparent. Also, I don't know what add (replace) means. Thanks if you answer this.

  • You have to open the images as a Layer?

  • Nice video thanks for the help.

  • This helped alot! Thanks! :D

  • yehey!!! thank you!!!

  • AMAMZING! Thank you.

  • @KingJax97oncp - press ctrl L

  • I tried exactly the same thing, but it still leaves an animation in the background for some inexplicit reason. I would like to find out how to fix this.

Like, say I was doing a gif of a stick figure running across the image. It would still leave frames of the stick running behind. That's not what I want.

  • @Microsoftfan6124 Type "(replace)" into the name for each layer.

    Ex.

    etc.

    Layer 3 (replace)

    Layer 2 (replace)

    Layer1 Background

    Hope that helps :)

  • @MishLDirnt This worked perfectly for mine. Thanks :3

  • .........IM GONNA KISS YOU!! the frames never worked till I found out about this replace thing i love ou!! you are deffently getting my sub

  • what programm did u use for recording your desktop?

  • It's not working for me D:

  • I have an animation that I made in a program that exports it in GIF which sux.

Because I have to ad FX and some BG´s when I export it into another program and it can´t remove the Alpha channel.

So I have to do it manually.

Every 3572 frames of it!!! Dx

Yeah I´m totally not going to do that....

    Is there another way?

  • that was so easy mario rocks

  • I follow all yours stpes, but it still sticking up! help me

  • @TheSuperDiddyKong add "(replace)" to each layer after removing the background. that's pretty much what I learned from this vid (no offense).

  • your doing everything way to fast -,-

  • @watevaax Your brain is too slow.

  • @DeadBatteryVideos hahah hell yeah

  • @DeadBatteryVideos You're doing things too slow for me.

  • @DeadBatteryVideos No YOU go so Fast

  • umm at 0:23 how did u make the box go checkerboard

  • @KingJax97oncp Delete button

  • umm i accidentaly deleted the box to the right of the pic wit the mario on it i clicked the x and idk how to get it back on there can u help me

im talking about the box with the layers on it

  • @KingJax97oncp Click Windows > Layers Dialogue. Something like that.

  • @DeadBatteryVideos

o and another question the box to the right it fdosent have any of the information like in yours it dosent show the frames..

  • link???

  • I can't get it to work. It doesn't turn to checkered pattern and I can't select add alpha channel, only to first frame (background). What I'm I doing wrong?

Plus the sound of mouse click in this video makes me want to ram my fist through the monitor.

  • where do u get pics like that?

  • @primewebs photobucket

  • and with coloured backgrounds?

  • @LazyTownableChannel You'll have to go through each frame and manually crop your subject if the background colors are of too much variety. This is actually what I had to do with this Mario gif, but that would be too long of a tutorial. If you go to my channel I have a tutorial on using the paths tool to crop images.

    watch?v=keDN3LYs88s

  • Please redo this from the start. I cant understand the beginning with the layers part because i cant figure it out how to do it. Like, whenever i open it just opens it in a new thing.

  • lol demon cruz

  • i like your computer background

  • y not just use photoshop?

  • @123drdre321 coz gimps free

  • @G0LARAMA Photoshop is free. -.-'

    I have Cs3 and Cs4 and I din't pay a cent

  • Only because you pirated it.

  • @123drdre321 Gimp is better aswell :P

  • Ahh, (replace), that was the problem lol. Thanks a bunch for this tutorial.

  • can you please comment to me how do you actually delete the background after you activated the alpha channel. for reals I cant delete it

  • i cant make stuff transparent because my thing cant 'handle transparentsy'

    >:[

i downloaded this thing for nothing?!

  • @HAHAHA52854692476005 you have to save it as .gif

  • thanks dude.

  • I tried to do this, but I can see the other layers when in playback.

  • Rename the layer name to whatever the Frame is and add (replace) to the end like in the video. This will make it so instead of stacking frames, each frame will replace the one before it.

Sorry I took so long to reply.

  • Didnt work I can see all the layers, Its like the layers are just stacking up on eachother

  • click in each eye at left of each image to hide each layer. Layers with eye are visible layers. You need visible one at time

  • I meant in the final animation

  • see the video tutorial in time 1:50 and where say 'Frame disposal where unspecified', change 'I don´t care' for 'One frame per layer (replace)' and you can see fine your animated gif.

  • You rock. I've looking forever on how to crop irregular images. That wasn't the point of the video, but thanks nonetheless.

  • ugh finally lol, thx

  • dats so kul

  • What effect are you using with UberIcon in this video?

  • I'm not using UberIcon in this video. This video uses my new computer, which comes loaded with Windows Vista Home Premium. My old computer (from My Desktop Of Ultimate Pwnage) is no longer used.

  • Thanks a lot.

  • nice, mine is so boring and lame :P

  • Yo wtf is that in the back????

  • That's my desktop. I have Windows Vista with Dreamscene installed so I can have animated wallpapers.
