  • Jiri was such a great defenseman!

  • I was watching this game when he collapsed on the bench.. I was in shock. I had actually just met him a few months before at a racetrack in Waterford, Mi...

  • strange thing is he could play still but he cant :( hes only 31...

  • In Saginaw, nonetheless

  • this is so based

  • Who would dislike this?

  • boy do i miss that guy...glad hes ok and doing well but it sucks he cant play anymore

  • Where the hell did Chlyesdale come from ???!!! B

  • And that in every red wing

  • Detroit for life....it's more than a team it's family and that in Clydesdale fans, friends, everybody who is a red wings fan knows the wings are tough and don't give up without a fight.

  • once you play in Detroit, you are a DETROITER. no matter the state or country of origin....we don't forget our own

  • is that the grand rapids griffins mascot at the end?

  • i was at this game, i am season ticket holder for the spirit. He had a sellout crowd of over 5,500 chanting his name and applauding him. The game is a great cause, support it.

  • Good thing is they didn't abandon him even though he can't play in NHL anymore. He now is director of player development for the Red Wings.

  • @Koopa3000 Detroit is really good about treating their players right. You give them the effort on the ice and stay loyal... they'll keep you around off the ice when it's time. I can't remember a single player asking for a trade except for Fedorov....but that's because he was a greedy bitch.

  • @zippolight2002

Yep he wanted to be the best

Only way he'd be best in Detroit is if Hasek, Yzerman, Shannahan, and Lidstrom left

  • @zippolight2002 very true

  • @Koopa3000 Only shows how much class the Red Wings have.....God I love cheering for this team

  • @llSgtScopell remember konstantinov? jeez wings have had bad luck with d-men but probably the classiest team in the NHL--minus Kris Draper or Sean Avery but you get the picture

  • @TheOILERSfan99 Typical of Detroit Spirit, when youre down youre not out. And we rally around

    and dont give up.

  • @Koopa3000 that's one of the best things about the wings organization. if a player has a career ending injury or retires, the organization offers them every opportunity to stay with the organization. Fisher, Yzerman, Draper, Kocer, Ozgood, McCrimmon (R.I.P.) all played for the wings and have had roles within the organization to name a few.

  • wow you are not a fan of the wings if you dont know what happened 4 years ago

i bet you dont even know who the red wings first 50 goal scorer in 1 season was

  • Mickey Redmond?

  • Mr. Hockey? (Gordie Howe for everyone else)

  • look up fischer collapses on youtube and yo ucan see for yourself.

  • He's still only 28 years old and a potential comeback shouldn't be dismissed just yet. I think he is still leaning towards eventually returning to the ice once his health is completely stable.

  • That would be really cool.

  • It still sucks when you have your entire career in front of you and it ends because of something you cant control. At least he won a stanley cup.

  • That last part is not cannot be looked on badly, he played a key role under Bowman's system as a checker on the pk that championship yr.

  • His health will never be stable. He has a heart condition that cannot be cured, and therefore, sadly will never be able to play at NHL level ever again.

  • I doubt it, if he was able to come back he'd have come back by now, apparently he has a permanent heart condition.

  • Fisher is best czech

  • I think so. I remember hearing about the game he was at. Had to work and couldn't make it though.

  • i didnt know he came back, i thought he retired and had anouther job with the red wings organization

  • Yes, he is retired now. Jiri Fischer is the Wings' Director of player development, serving as the conduit between management and the draft picks. This is a video of him participating in a charity game in Saginaw, MI. The charity game took place to raise money for defibrillators devices like the one that revived him to rinks, schools and nonprofit agencies across mid-Michigan.

  • Learn English.

  • lol wut

  • I'm just so relieved that he recovered. Miss you Jiri.... it's MaryJane

  • im glad hes back
