lacrosse is much less focused on hitting than hockey is. just because u can throw a good hit that doesnt mean u will be a great defender. defense is much more about not letting your man get to the goal or making him take a shot from a bad angle than it is about taking the ball away. defense in lacrosse is completely different than defense in hockey. if you watch a game closely you will start to realize that suprisingly it is played very similarly to basketball.
