The timer actually records the time of the last shot fired, it is noise activated. That is why you see it skip to a longer time after each shot is fired and then stop at the longest time when the shooting stops. They use the same timers for most timed shooting sports including IPSC.

I am a SASS Member and shoot the same routines as this. One major difference, I shoot full load .45 LC, not these pussified downloaded .38's.

There is a major divide in the SASS org and it is due to this tactic, the same issue as IPSC. When you down load the round to popcorn farts, there is no skill involved. Anyone can shoot a .22 at these speeds. Even his shotgun is down loaded to the least amount of powder he can have. His corporate sponsors insist on it ....... so much for an amateur sport
