i took isotretinoin(accutane) in the form of amnesteem 40mg for less than 1 month before it ruined my life. I think it destroyed something in my brain that processes testosterone because i now have these symptoms: no libido(sex drive) whatsoever, my beard was starting to become full and now has stopped growing completely, my muscles are breaking down into fat rapidly especially in my abs despite constant excersize, constant fatigue, i fall asleep everyday in everyclass. just my story :( suckss

when your lips crack its best not to use vaseline or lip barm because that just protects the lips from cracking. you want to put the moisture back into your lips by using specific moisture lip cream.

Anyway R is dangerous drug ! So take it only if you are in deep very deep acne problem not otherwise !

After situation was better but I don't know believe me people don't mess with this medicament if you really really really don't have a choice ! @jptmba1512 ) I was on the course of treatment two years ago ! It has been proven that R affects on brain ! So, I didn't know that during my friendship with R but still I haven't feel like myself ! I have also problem with sleeping lots of nightmares and I have to put a pillow because strange feel in my head !

I done MRI 7 months ago along with a blood vessels checking and everything is ok ! Now I have a good sleep but R is directly responsible for every complication I had.

@Palek Yeah I know, there are effects on the brain like increased brain pressure, which I had some days. I felt like my head was gonna blow LOL. But it would go away right after feeling, like, this feeling in your head. idk how to explain it. It was weird, but I have not had complications .Thank God. Not one gastrointestinal, brain, blood, or organ problem.. NONE!! I'm blessed.. PLUS i still got the great results of near perfect skin. I can't express wat it feels like to be given life 1nc more.

Im been on Accutane, well the generic Amnesteem, for about 6 months now and my skin is just about perfect. There are mild side effects. But the doctor never told me anything about stunting your growth development. I'm sure that if Accutane stunted your growth the doctors would be obligated to tell you so before starting the Accutane/ Ipledge program. I'm 20 years old.. and since starting Accutane I think i've grown an inch taller, i was 5'11 now im 6 feet soo IDK man... talk wit the docs

I'm currently on my second course of accutane. I took it once 3 years ago and it worked, but then it gradually came back. I don't really remember having any real side effects besides dry lips the first time, but now I'm starting to get mood swings and I feel slightly depressed. I don't like blaming it on the accutane, but i've never really been depressed before. I'm starting to get paranoid and antisocial, and I'm even afraid to go to school sometimes because I just don't feel good anymore.

I took one cycle of accutane when i was 16 also. It cleared up my acne, but i became extremely depressed soon after i began taking it. I had no idea why at the time, but I had paranoid thoughts about people taking about me/everyone hating me and even have episodes of violence and beat the shit out of my guy friend once for no reason at all. Hey in latino america at least with me , is about 20 mg a day for 1 year ... My doctor told me , the universal rule ,is to use 120 mg per Kg. therefore if u wait 60 kg ull have to be 1 year on treatment

the dose of accuntan veries from country to country. In western europe they usually hit it hard like 80mg-120mg but its only for 4-6 month of treatment. Where as in other countries its like 40mg-60mg but treatment lastest about a year or two. In the United States the normal dose is between about 60mg-80mg and lastest around 6 months of treatment, so it isn't hit as hard as maybe you were.

I used it, and it's the only medication that will not make your acne worse before it gets better. It worked wonders for me. I did experience hair loss so I didn't finish my treatment, but once I stopped taking the drub the hair grew back. even though I didn't finish the treatment my acne still didn't come back. I'd still highly recommend it to any one with severe acne.

I just thought I should maybe tell you guys this, because it stopped me from taking accutane. I was planning on starting it, when a friend mentioned that many people are allergic to milk and don't know it, because it's unnatural for our bodies to digest. I've been off mostly all dairy products for 2 weeks, and I've had INCREDIBLE changes. My skin is almost clear.

So before you do something dramatic, make sure it's not an allergy.

I am sorry but your analysis seems very "light". How could you pretend that you KNOW such stupid things. It has been proved by the FDA that Accutane CAN cause depression. This kind of side effect does not happen on each person, but it does. I do not think that Roche would put this on the side effects list of their medecine for fun. @romANDjeff Actually his analysis is quite on point. He's right on. The whole depression factor varies from person to person. Roche has done scientific experiments as to why patients become depressed. It tends to be the patients with the most severe cases lacking social outgoing personality's. It depends on what type of person you are. If your outgoing and don't let your acne issue get to you, your self confidence and ego, you'll be fine.You are right. Acc. does affect your brain pressure tho.

just keep using moisturiser; if you're still on accutane that's probubly a question to ask your doctor though. Although accutane's side effects do have a tendency to continue for months after the treatment is finished. But again if you're worried about it just ask your doctor.

I have been on Accutane more than once. I've never had depression and in fact, in Canada my sister has been taking it in low dose for years - rules are different there. I take BtoZinc vitamins to maintain my health while on accutane. They are a total multvitamin without vitamin A - Vitamin A can potentiate accutane. Watch what you're eating too. Lots of stuff contains added Vitamin A - some milk, cereals, etc. That may be the source for some bad side effects in some people.

Some doctors might just follow "laboratories advices" who want to sell it...For instance it took them years and the obligation from the FDA to admit these pills led people to suicide although they already knew it.
