Everyone, to record your voice you will have to record your voice and the video game your capturing at the same time. You can't record it straight off the ps3 but if you record it seperately on the computer using sony vegas or audacity and then sync up the video game's sound and ur sound using sony vegas or something, then you could finally record ur voice and the other peoples :) hope this helped :)

@zAmature go to audio output settings and select multiple outputs. If you have a HDMI or your PVR's cables the sound through the tv letting the pvr pick it up.

For all the people saying it won't record, he was half right. Changing the output settings to system default will record OTHER people's voice chat with the Hauppauge HD pvr. But it also screws with your game volume, so you have to set it right, for how you want it. But changing the output settings to system default does NOT record YOUR voice

yeah lol i figured that out and i even figured out how to do live commentaries or at least the closest thing i could figure out to them. put your settings just like this so people can hear you but they come through the TV and then record your own voice with another program on your computer like audacity then sync the two :)

@TheKoreanSniper well the thing is... you need a laptop cant use desktop for this. anyway. you change your settings to be exactly like this video and then other people's voices come out of the tv. for the laptop, keep it close to you and if you pay close attention you'll hear something important. other people do this too. of course on xbox it's easier because they can change their settings so it gets both voices but ps3 you'll hear people's controllers because they do this. (im on ps3)

@WhenGamersGetOut Since the PVR intercepts any sounds / pictures going to the TV, it would record the other person's game chat because instead of going only to the mic, it now goes to the TV, which it wouldn't have before. This doesn't record your own voice though.

@AnbuZombies Well if you have a headset with an optical cable (ex: turtle beach / astros ) you can get an optical splitter and plug one end into the ps3 and one into the hd PVR, and I think it should record your own voice with the TV's audio. Or it might only support one audio input, I'm not sure.
