Ta mate. The battery kit is something we rig up our selves. Its a 7amp 12v sealed battery. The pack and battery are often sold here in boat shops to power flounder lights.
Bro, great vid!! I wish we had outfitters like you guys in my area in the states! The battery kit: can you give us a brand name or part # and where to order it from
Getting a hobie this spring, and thanks to your video I will probably get the Outback and set it up just like in your video. Great video, look forward to more of your videos and input!
What model ram mount is used for the fish finder... I just bought a Hobie Revo and want to mount a Hummingbird 383 in the same fashion... thanks for a great video.
Nearly all our fishing here is done at anchor I had a bad experiance where I got pulled side on in the main flow of a river since then I always lock the anchor trolley off - thanks for taking the time to reply Tarponben
I dont put a cleat in the anchor trolley as I attach the anchor line via a loop straight to the clip. Once you suck it to the rear which is 99% of the time it stays there. I dont bring the anchor line through to tie off in the cockpit. Too much mess for me.
If I need more length I just carry a second line with loop at one end and clip at the other. I just add it to the existing one increasing the overall amount of line and throw the whole lot over the side. We keep chain and add it when we need and you are right, I dont fish big tides in my local. I dont anchor at all now and only fish artificials on the drift. I dont have the patience to wait for fish to find me.
Some great ideas - not sure that set up would suit U K waters as we do a lot more fishing at anchor with bait Eg I notice there was no way to lock the anchor trolley in one position and you don't use any chain this suggests you don't fish in big tides. Some impressive ideas though.
I dont cleat the anchor trolley off. It just stays in place, especialy when you suck the anchor line to the back which is 99% of the time. I tie a loop in the end of the anchor line that goes straight to the clip. I dont bring the line through and adjust the length by tieing it off in the cock pit. For me for its too much mess.

Bass Pro Shop sell floating fishing rods designed especially for kayak fishing. this will eliminate the rod cord attachment.

Ram-B -107U is the sounder mount in 1" ball. It fits the 300 to 700 series Humminbirds. I also use the RAP-B-345U wedge mount for the mast step.
Cheers
