What a beautiful skater! She was always robbed by the judges; I guess they couldn't believe you could be that tall, that beautiful and that talented. Wow!
Well, sorry gang....but we can add JUDY COLLINS to our list of 'creeps' who don't want their music on YOUTUBE! Had to replace the soundtrack. I didn't have any Judy Collins records to break up, but I certainly have destroyed all my GENE KELLY and the ARTIST FORMERLY KNOWN AS Puutz!!! I'll bet we were the only people listening to her stupid song anyway.......what a jerk!!!! best wishes
It's artistically criminal,! Kind of like ripping all the 'flesh tone' paint off the Mona Lisa cause your grandpa made the formula for it!! The USFSA paid performance fees for this in 1980, they made their money on it. Once artistically linked to a performance, they SHOULD be glad, if indeed they truly are so-called 'Artists"....which we know they are NOT!!! slow burn.............................hope you are well! best wishes
Yes, that's ole Michael! I am not sure if he had anything to do with the choreography, or may have just been there as a friend. He and Judy were skating in California at the time. best wishes
Lisa Marie Allen was one of the most special skaters this country has ever produced; she was the Janet Lynn of the 80's, and that is one of the highest compliments that can be paid to a skater: she was humble, unassuming, appreciative, an artist who skated for the love of the sport. Every element had a reason and a meaning and a connection in the program. Her musicality, presence, technical skill on spins and jumps, will never be eqauled nor forgotten. What a true champion!
yes, i think even Elaine Zayak may have benefited from just one more year of growth...but you can't stop the powers that be once they've decided on a course of action. I am not sure even a perfect program would have won that night, but it should have. Talk about artistic impression!!!!
Aww poor Lisa Marie! She was so underrated. I read an interview where she talks about this performance and I've always wanted to see it...thanks for posting.

At 5'10' she is an inspiration to all skaters who do not look like the "baby ballerinas" as Dick Button would say.

I wish that Lisa-Marie had won the Nationals at least one time before she retired. She was such a tall elegant skater.

Thank you for sharing this: Lisa Marie Allen was my favorite American lady skater of this time period.
