  • what happend to the middle part?

  • "ahh you cant get much better than that, 4 reds, 4 blacks" how about 15 reds, 16 blacks and the rest of the colours:P

  • Why does he chalk his cue three or four times between each shot? Must be automatic or maybe due to tension?

  • This was very interesting, and so was Davis.

  • Notice how he gets a kick on the final brown. Also notice how neither commentator picks up on this. If that had happened in this years snooker championship everyone would have been like 'how shocking he got a kick- these tables are terrible blah blah' like shaun murphy etc. I think kicks were quite common in the earlier years but people just got on with it and didn't moan like todays players. Great break Steve and good quality vid as well- nice one!

  • Yea Your Exactly Right,Horrid Kick And Not A Word Mentioned

  • great 147

  • AND A TRICK SHOT IN THE MIDDLE AS WELL A1

  • unbelievable.

  • Steve Davis the best snooker player that ever lived.

  • Theses only 1 Steve "Boring Interesting" Davis!!

    Steve Rules!

  • I am very glad that Steve Davis is still on scene and that he fulfills his big dream - to be in TOP16 at his age of 50. I think that we would have to wait some time until somebody else from top16 snooker players will celebrate 50th b-day.

  • At least 12 years for Stephen Hendry, who is about to break Steve's Record for most consecutive seasons as a top 16 player. Steve went 20 seasons! Stephen is on his 20th right now! Amazing players.

  • he's 52

  • steve davis is the greatest snooker player ever to live. I still love watching his smooth stroke. . .a genius

  • Co-commentator Silver Fox David Taylor mentioned it before John Pulman

  • Not Ted Lowe. This was on ITV, and the commentator was John Pulman.

  • Go on the nugget! Master of the 80's

  • Unbelievable. That pink was amazing. What a brilliant player!!

  • WOW - that last pink was unbelievable. He was truly the master back then. Shame he isn't now, I'd love to see him win the world title again.

  • Me too.But age's catching up.

  • man that gave me chills. i felt like jumping up and down and screaming and crying or something. i love moments like these. that moment can get him through the rest of his life.

  • Nice one for posting this!!! My nana let me stay up to watch this!! Well done Steve!! Still my hero.

  • 1982 maybe?

  • Yes that is right and 25 years ago this was done on tv

  • Does anybody know what year this was in?

  • January 1982. Davis reached the final but lost 9-8 to Welshman Terry Griffiths.

  • What a legend.

  • Never seen this before, really cool!

I can't believe he doubled that red early on in the game, the man's got skills!

  • Steve davis is my hero! modest talented and nowadays a damn fine presenter as well as still giving the young lads a run for there money

  • long live the plumstead potter, a genuine sporting legend

  • steve davis is a true legend! to still compete with the big boys at his age is remarkable. what a class 147!

  • god i could so do better than that shit.

  • The first 147 in the championship was achieved by Cliff Thorburn in 1983. soz it was a championship game first time not live an its burn not ton lol

  • first on tv max brake i thought was the canadian fella chris thornton or suttin

  • whoever posted it here, thanks a lot! never seen this famous first-on-tv-maximum break. look at the potted pink, and go to the table, then wonder...

  • You must be one of them 8-ball players that don't understand the degree of difficulty involved in snooker.

Take a chance at snooker bud. You'll eat your words.

  • oh my god

  • Man Steve Davis looks so....british ;-)

  • 147 rarely ever happens, you will hardly ever see it at local pool even if it was attempted set-up

  • Cholling. You are full of shit mate. Go play Snooker and make a break of 30 and I will eat my hat. You fool.

  • Not that big of a deal? , lol, snooker is one of the hardest games ever created, takes a very high degree of skill and concentration, and making a 147 on tv and people watching in the audience, + the big money prize, or in this instance a shit car!, i really dont beleive you when you saw a 147 maximum break after 6 pints, does it hell happen all the time!, pros say making a 147 on tv is sometimes better feeling than winning a tournament.

  • Not that big of a deal. Happens all the time. I saw a 147 go down at a local pool hall just the other day and the player had already downed six pints before even starting!

  • 'The Nugget' is a legend. What a player, and what a great bloke.
