Notice how he gets a kick on the final brown. Also notice how neither commentator picks up on this. If that had happened in this years snooker championship everyone would have been like 'how shocking he got a kick- these tables are terrible blah blah' like shaun murphy etc. I think kicks were quite common in the earlier years but people just got on with it and didn't moan like todays players. Great break Steve and good quality vid as well- nice one!
I am very glad that Steve Davis is still on scene and that he fulfills his big dream - to be in TOP16 at his age of 50. I think that we would have to wait some time until somebody else from top16 snooker players will celebrate 50th b-day.
At least 12 years for Stephen Hendry, who is about to break Steve's Record for most consecutive seasons as a top 16 player. Steve went 20 seasons! Stephen is on his 20th right now! Amazing players.
man that gave me chills. i felt like jumping up and down and screaming and crying or something. i love moments like these. that moment can get him through the rest of his life.
Not that big of a deal? , lol, snooker is one of the hardest games ever created, takes a very high degree of skill and concentration, and making a 147 on tv and people watching in the audience, + the big money prize, or in this instance a shit car!, i really dont beleive you when you saw a 147 maximum break after 6 pints, does it hell happen all the time!, pros say making a 147 on tv is sometimes better feeling than winning a tournament.
Not that big of a deal. Happens all the time. I saw a 147 go down at a local pool hall just the other day and the player had already downed six pints before even starting!
Steve Davis is a legend.

Why does he chalk his cue three or four times between each shot? Must be automatic or maybe due to tension?

This was very interesting, and so was Davis.

You must be one of them 8-ball players that don't understand the degree of difficulty involved in snooker.
