Arthur Leigh Allen was a graduate of was was then known as the California State Polytechnic College at San Luis Obispo. IF he was Zodiac were the obvious spelling errors and run on phrases deliberate in an effort to appear semi-literate and poorly educated to throw the investigators off of a profile which would have tabbed an educated man? This is entirely possible.

I have been a researcher on this particular case for 23 years.

I was also a close friend of Arthur Leigh Allen for several years prior to his death.

It's interesting how close your analysis comes to mine, and that it is basically a reflection of this man.

Firstly Dave, dyslexia, is not a catch all condition - it comes in various shades. whilst it's 'reasonable' to suggest a person with certain dyslexia symptoms 'could be' the victim of peer cruelty in school, you've yet to address the possibility that he was intentionally misspelling words - in line with his general taste for playing games with people he clearly considered of far inferior intellect to himself... your profile = angry loner teased in school, blah,blah,blah CSI Wed. night tv...

a) the times b) Zodiac's body language -- which if it matched his related tone and manner of voice, was relaxed c) the couple were lying down and they had v.little time to panic (the froze) d) the mindset of the couple themselves, etc,etc. Whilst 'social facility and charm' may well be in existence with The Zodiac, you're reaching to suggest you can draw this from analysis of this particular event... if this happened to a couple today, what would their reaction be?

Would a 'conventional day job' be indicative of someone, in the late '60s, who enjoyed musical opera? How much was a ticket back then? What was the dress code? A blue collar worker who goes to the opera... OK Dave... and if you are right, then what does a taste for G&S in that context tell you...?

The spelling is not an indicator of intellect. Most individuals sitting behind a desk are not there due to his/her intellect-rather his/her interest. Most psychologist are with the opinion that a person without any mental handicap can acquire any position desired. All it takes is the will. The cap looks nice.

I have just watched all 14 episodes and have listened carefully without writing down what I thought along the way, this was hard as I had a lot of thoughts leaping out you never had so now I will watch again without listening to your opinion only the letters and see what happens, one thing about his schooling though is if he craves for attention so much he was probably a class clown and just hated the teachers/adults/athorities

Dr. Van Nuys could you post a profile of the Zodiac based on the entire range of facts. For example if you consider his killing of lone couples a sign of hatred towards these for he himself was unable to achieve happiness with a partner. Do his letters suggest strong feelings of inferiority? Would he be a loner? If you've discussed this in one of your books or other publications I'd be grateful if you could point me in the right direction. Please keep your analysis-videos coming!

I think that the Zodiac was a lonewolf, praying on certain victims that had more social status then himself(murders on holidays) and often attacking couples. I do not think that we should praise the Zodiac too much, saying he's clever.

Loneliness can do so much to an already damaged individual. Today the zodiac is most likely dead, or maybe he, like many other serial killers started a family after his horrific years as the beast.

His list of materials that he needs to build the bomb in the Nov. 9th 1969 letter might suggest that he frequents hardware shops. Maybe he's a maintenance man, or works in construction or makes a hobby out of building/repairing things.
