  • Why cant these indonesians offer themselves to the Cobras, of course naked, clothes will kill the snakes!

  • Poor little rats :(

  • why they feed them together??? king cobras shouldn't even by together in 1 terrarium...

  • the king cobra is the most beautiful snake on earth....

  • Impressive. They actually got both of their kings to take mice. I've only ever seen that successful in one other King before.

  • nice.. lucky of you, i;ve been to sg zoo a couple of times and i've never seen the keepers do any feeding :(

  • @helmetboy45

    Thanks for your comment :)

We were doing a project at that time, so we checked out the feeding timings beforehand :)

  • @gnohz ahh..i see..

well, i should check out the feeding timings first before my next trip. its been quite awhile since the last time i went to the zoo..

  • @helmetboy45 Me too...I hardly go to the zoo..Actually I prefer wildlife where animal can be observed in their most natural habitat. Maybe it's because I like to photograph them as well.

But I guess the zoo is the best place to see many different types of animals! :)

  • I prefer than in the wild

  • These king cobras are suffering in this place, feed them sum snakes like baby pythons or sumthing not sum fucking dead rats..... It took 10min to figure out how to swallow it....

  • king cobra isn't green

  • A King Cobra is the biggest poisonous snake, it deserves more than dead rats.

  • this cobra is fucking small..

king cobra way bigger and longer than that

  • they are amazing creature's you can see him dislocating his jaw brill video

  • here in the phil. we have an unique cobra a deadly poisonous cobra in the whole world

in thats we called" BANACON" MEANS snake have feet.. do you want to see this kind f snake? check it out.

    coming soon

  • @akrhokoy ok now say that in english

  • akrhokoy where's the banacon means snake there's no link ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • king cobras do eat other snakes but occasionally in captivity can be gotten to eat rats.

  • King cobras favourite food is the rat snake

  • FANNO PAURA MA SO BELLIIII

  • out住d鼠做麥鳩--"?

    放落去咪算羅-- 又要夾住唔比食咁==

  • Damn. Always wanted to feed those.

  • Snakes horrify me

  • i thought king cobras only ate other snakes?

  • kobra usht gjarpri ma i rrezikshmi

  • bye bye rat

  • Whoa! I almost thought there was going to be a snakefight

  • It's not good to feed them together. Snakes can then attack each other and they can even kill other snake. They should feed it separately.

  • exactly

  • @AsmoGoth True. One time at the same zoo where this footage was filmed during feeding time, one of the snakes bit the other one and didn't let go until one of the keepers use a rod to separate them.

  • @AsmoGoth What's worse is that THIS species in particular (the king cobra) often eats other snakes, and can be cannibalistic, so it is DEFINITELY a bad idea to feed them together.

  • @AsmoGoth

    yes,especially the kings...

  • aaww bless the rats ,, i hate snakes , no affence to emm luvvers buhh if i c one i real life id runa mile, x lol

  • Cobras like snakes, its better then rats

  • now that is awsome

  • poor rat lol

  • finally... THANK YOU for killing the rats before letting the snakes eat them its much less painful for the rat + the snake has less chance of getting hurt AKA getting a eye bitten or scratched :)

  • they are no King Kobras Kingkobras only eat other shnakes and no mice or rats. Or snakesausages that what they eat to

  • poor rats =/

  • when i see a snake eat a rat or mice and the last part left is the tail it looks as if the snake was smoking a ciguret

  • king cobras aren't true cobras.

But I hate it how they're cannibals...it shows that none of them care about each other.

  • u r very right. they arent. theyre too big to be real cobras and theyre parents leave them at birth so that she doesnt eat them

  • that's because they fast when they look out for the nest.

  • yeah but the female and sometimes the male protects the nest with their lives until the you hatch. If they didn't care about each other then why would they do that? Also King Cobras have favorite mates and often return to the same mate each breeding season.

  • That does happen sometimes. But typically, w reptiles exhibit very little care for the young. with the exception of crocodylians and a monkey tail skink. But yes king cobras will mate for life. they are the most intelligent snakes. The only other non-avian reptiles that exceed them in intelligence are crocodiles and monitor lizards.

  • I think they are. You can tell by the markings along their body and their scale patterns on their heads. Those features are very distinct on King Cobras.

  • They're physiologically different.

  • Any snake entitled "king" is a proven cannibal. So King Cobra's will eat other snakes.

  • That's right, and the King Cobra's scientific name is Ophiophagus Hannah... Ophiophagus means snake-eater...

  • You don't see Kingsnakes eating other kingsnakes...

  • Actually Kingsnakes do have a tendence to eat other Kingsnakes. Ask any breeder.

  • If this is some kind of zoo exhibit, the people running it are idiots. King Cobras eat other snakes and even their own species. You don't feed them together.

  • I'll second that, it's not too bright to feed or even keep young kings in the same cage. But it is impressive that they got some of the little kings on rodents. The ones I raised took quite awhile to acclimate. I'd happily take that whole litter off their hands.

  • That's true, but research have shown that they do eat other snake species, but not their own. I could be wrong though.

  • yeah, you're wrong...King Cobras have been known to cannibalise their own.

  • you're right about that they do. A male king cobra will also kill a female if it refuses to mate with him. the theory being that it is preventing a pregnant female from birthing. A rivals young

  • snakes are so cool

  • lordvipertx How do you become a venomous snake keeper? Do you fill out a form or do you go to school for it? I can only imagine there is a vast difference between handling a python for instance then handling a king cobra. Also have you ever been bit?

  • haha, that was so funny when they were bumping each other, such beutiful animals

  • yes there is a difference - you don't handle vemomous snakes period.Only with tools.

  • Never leave one of these with little kids...

King cobras' venom aren't as potent as other poisonous snakes, but they inject the most at once, making them, technically, the deadliest.

  • yeah, im scared of snakes

  • you have a reason to be, especially King Cobras, that much neurotoxin in a bite could kill you.

  • True, but I still don't see any reason to be scared of snakes unless you live in an area with alot of venomous ones. I live in canada and if I see a snake on the ground I will pick it up because I can handle them well.

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm not afraid of snakes, I LOVE snakes. It's just tthat people have reasons to be afraid of things.

  • Well... The King Cobra's venom has been known to be so potent that it could even kill an elephant! However, you are right that the venom of the largest venomous snake in the world is not as deadly as the others...

All the most venomous snakes are from Australia, Taipan, Tiger Snake etc... which venom produced in a single bite is so deadly that it could kill a million mice!

  • at 2:25 what was that it was eating

  • It was eating a rodent.

It's good to have the O. Hannahs stick to things like rodents and birds as a diet rather than reptiles, they LOVE to eat reptiles, it's just like children with chocolate.

  • at the same size they will never try to eat other if kept fed, if not ?? the time will come that they will try killing each other and the weakest one is more likely to be eaten

but don't forget ? a smaller one will get killed at first sight by an adult. just like a female shall incubate the eggs and care for them then leave and never come back when the eggs are ready to hatch. younglings goes seperate ways once out of the egg

  • no no no and no ! yes ofcourse they eat each other but the chances of this happening is very rare especialy when there at the same size but if one is smaller than the other it is undoubdtfuly that the biggers will most likely eat the smaller on first sight even if there a food like rodent inside, the bigger will always eat the smaller serpant of its species first for some weird reason

  • 1 Those ARE King Cobras (Ophiophagus Hannah)

2 Feeding frozen/thawed prey items is safer for your reptile. You eliminate the risk of injury and parasites.

3 O. hannahs WILL eat other O. hannahs.

4 Gaboons strike faster than Kings.

As a venomous snake keeper, with one O. hannah in my collection, I can tell you that I am dead on with all of this. Hopefully you all feel a bit more intelligent now. ;)

  • Well actually it's kind of a myth they eat others of their own species. O. Hannahs are intelligent. If they were not, they would not be perfect animals.

Their main diet consists of small snakes like rat snakes, but they sometimes go for pythons or poisonous snakes, and on rare occasions smaller species of cobra. They will also go for small rodents and amphibians.

But I really shouldn't question the expert XD

  • Well, if that is the case ask any O. hannah breeder why he sweats so badly when putting a male and female together.

Sice they, like most animals, don't fight to the death in a battle, that leaves one other terrible outcome as a possibility...

  • You mean the males and females would eat each other?

  • From what I understand it's usually the female that will eat the male.

However, admittedly, I have never SEEN this happen. I only know that it seems to be a major fear to breeders. I believe that Rom Whitaker, one of the most knowledgable O. hannah keepers on the planet, mentions it in his special "The King Cobra and I" on National Geographic channel.

  • That's scary, because I heard on rare occasions they mate for life!

Okay then. I just don't like the idea of a cannibalistic animal. If you're really biased towards reptiles (like me) you view them as the most perfect animals ever.

  • Trust me, I love reptiles more than most. As stated, I have my own baby King. But they ARE snake eaters, and O. hannahs ARE snakes.

You can check out my collection at viper reptiles dot com

  • I don't think that adults would normally attack each other due to the fact that they grow to be very large and powerful. Also the king cobra is one of the few snake species where the male grows larger than the female so I would imagine that the male would be the greater threat. Of course I would take Rom Whitaker's word on any fact involving Indian snakes, he's the man!

  • hes like my bird always attaking for food must be hungry

  • These are king cobras no doubt. They did went after each other but one seems to be more aggressive than the other =)

  • WOW, they have 2 cannabalistic snakes in the same cage, and then they are trying to feed them in the same cage. I doubt these are king cobras because they would have went after eachother over that frozen/thawed rat.

  • They don't eat others of the same species, they do eat other species of cobras though. Their main diet is frogs and birds and rats, and occasional snake or mongoose. =)

  • They DO eat others of the same species, just significantly smaller.

  • King Cobras are awsome, they are very intelligent. Scientists have actually come to the conclusion that the King Cobra is actually not a member of the cobra family, but of a family all its own. But, who would win: a king cobra or a gaboon viper? Somebody needs to find a vid and post it up.

  • I have studied herpetology and i can tell you its a difficult one to predict as it depends on which snake gets the bite at the most vunerable area first. They are both famed for being the snakes that produce by far the most venom per bite but I would tend to lean towards the king King winning as it has the higher Toxic yield and the faster strike. Also Neurotoxic venom in the King tends to work faster than cardiotoxic venom possessed on the Gaboon. Hope this helps.

  • Define "win". What dies first? what strikes first?

  • 04:09 looks like it's smoking.

  • It also looks like it's dancing, towards the end.

  • XD I didn't see that!

  • the rats are dead... lol

  • They are :p

I guess it's much too costly to keep live rats. Also there's the issue of animal cruelty if they feed live ones. It'd be more gruesome lol

  • @gnohz animal cruelty is forcing the cobras to eat rats instead of its natural diet. animals eat what they eat for a reason. dont just give it a rat, give it a snake to eat...

  • @funkymusicluvr

Thanks for your comment. The feeding is done by the zookeeper so I have no control over what they eat :)

  • King Cobras are snake eaters not fond of rodents

  • You're right =)

I think the keepers are just trying to train them to consume rodents.

  • they prefer warm blood...,,...live creatures..its no fun to stalk or attack the dead..

who wants to beat up on a corpse..necromantic snakes...ohhh so sweat

  • O. hannah is actually not a rodent feeder. they feed on snakes, which of course are ectothermic, so they don't prefer warm blood.

  • que ascooooooooo

  • pore rat

  • I think it's already dead...

  • ya there dead itz like a zoo they kill it first
