  • "Rape" Really?

    Get a clue.

  • MMMM AHHH OOOOO?!? yeah, rolling my own smoes with full flavored pipe tobacco makes my voice alittle ruff......

  • ok no one has mentioned how this is the most out there rape song ever

  • Thanks my ears don't even need videos. I just sent my wife out the door with Ruby Vroom... saying this is awesome. Now I want the CD back.

  • Soul Couching?

  • I heard the girls singing in a commercial and I automatically started to say "You`ll get the ankles and I`ll get the wrists"

  • tiny one over to mow me down!!

  • Love this! good lord <3

  • "You get the ankles and I'll get the wrists!"

  • great use of a sample

    Andrews Sisters

  • blazing to this is amazing! highly recommend it...

  • Ah, this takes me back to High school.

  • saw Mike Doughty a few years ago in Asheville NC, just him and an electric guitar. 10 dollars. One of the best shows I've ever seen! He sat on the stage afterwards, a foot above the floor, and sold copies of his latest cd at the time, blank silver cds in a white sleeve pack :p He signed my old beat up copy of rubyV ^_^

Funny part of the show was when he told some of the regulars in the back to stfu, if they wouldn't mind, so the ppl that paid to get in could hear lol

  • I love this group, so inventive, when people hear me playing this song they ask what its about, i can never answer them.

  • With Cake, they the most uplifting band of the 90's ! High uplift.

  • musical f*cking genius.. love soul coughing

  • I love them! Any band that can include "ratittiue" (sp?) in their lyrics are amazing!

  • sounds like tom waits on e

  • GOD so much TALENT.

  • This song is cool. most people think it's about rape, but ACTUALLY they talk about ego, and how he wants to throw it off a roof. He used to work with his buddy stamping peoples hands in front of a venue, and would make up little raps and came up with "You get the tickets and I stamp the wrist" haha. That's what i heard, at least.

  • @lemonsdontcry I hear the lyrics as you mentioned!Nice one!

  • 3:26 always killed me

  • 'you get the ankles and I'll get the wrists'

  • i love the Time Tough samples...

  • Soul Coughing...one of the most original, inventive, and talented bands to never become fucking HUGE!

  • @terrapinbrad

Totally agree! Seems nobody knows them, but somehow they are known all over the world. I loved their mix of all different elements. During a time when lot's of experimental music was being released, they succeeded in being even more inventive and creative than most other bands.

This was the first song I ever heard from SC, and it scarred me for life :oP... luckily.

One of the most musically genious bands ever!

  • I got this album in 94 on cassette, I didn't have much expectations, I wound up playing the thing to death over the next several months....haven't heard another album they've done that i liked as much, but I do recall numerous Rolling Stone articles on these guys from the mid and late 90s...they became this type of dork jazz rock, which is too bad, I thought they were legit to be mainstream, but I guess not

  • @Rectanglectum they just trip

  • yep - play this at a party and everyone has a damn good time...

  • These guys will always always always sound modern.

  • Got my first blow job from a white chick to this song .lol

  • Didn't expect the white chick part hahaha.

  • hey i'm and equal opportunist if a black chick wants to go down on you what the hell as long as it's not my sister.lol

  • I had this album in jr. high, and I LOVED it. Then my mom took it away bc the beelzebub song! I LOVED THAT SONG!

  • Lmao, you shoulda been like "bitch I go to public school! They ain't sayin' nothing I don't hear every day!"

    Hahaha. Sad, but true

  • @ZachGretzinger THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT SONG DUMBASS

  • does anybody know where i can get guitar and bass tabs for this?

  • what are those girls saying at 0:48

  • anyone else but me no no no.

  • Anyone else but

    (uh)

    no

    no

    no

  • those are the andrews sisters (the 'boogie woogie bugle boy' chicks) saying 'anyone else but me' . it's from their 1940s hit 'don't sit under the apple tree' (with anyone else but me... no, no, no)'

  • hmm interesting. these guys sound pretty saweet. would be nice to catch Doughty on tour some time and maybe he could play some of this old stuff

  • he plays Circles, Soft Serve and occasionally Janine - otherwise, no dice.

  • I was mugged in front of meditation clinic on Pablo Boulevard in Oakland California listening to this song by 5 guys in Raiders Jackets.

  • Yeah. The Raiders do that to the Broncos sometimes, too. They play dirty. Uncool.

  • @goplacia San Pablo? don't hang at night

  • @goplacia What's the frequency, Kenneth?

  • @goplacia Haven't we all....

  • one of the best... - what g-love and special sauce know?

  • I am trying to get more people to start listening to them.

It's not too hard since all I have to do is play them this.

  • ..<3

  • Favorite Soul Coughing song

  • yea, same here.

  • Word.

  • M. Doughty broke up the greatest band ever.

  • man i love this band.
