LOL...I think this vid could explain what's up with Sam, I truly believe that the boys keep each other human, they keep each other from going completely off the rails. And yeah I'm being a bit tongue and cheek, but how many times have we seen Dean get scary and have Sam pull him back or seen Sam getting scary only to have Dean snap him out of it.
