@Reneator They do happen, a friend who was standing next to me caught a .40 cal ric in his thigh. Didn't penetrate, but drew blood and bruised. I've noticed it happens most under two conditions: 1. the steels that you are shooting at are heavily pockmarked and dented. This creates lots of angles that can send the slugs your direction. The steels he was using are probably hardened steel and last longer. 2. Shooting at the steel from angles other than head on seems to sometimes send rics too
@maukazen The only Ka-booms that I've ever heard about were with reloads, which Glock specifically warns against. If you want to shoot reloads in your Glock .40, just buy an after market barrel (better case support). I've shot 25,000 rounds or so of factory .40's in my Glocks (including Buffalo Bore hot and heavy loads) with no problem.
That opening shot showing the Glock on the stump looks so cool, I thought it was some kind of fancy new 3D layering effect the first time I watched it.
It does have a wierd effect, now that you mention it. That wasn't the objective, I was just trying to do something different and include what used to be a very old tree. I'm also pleased that a snake didn't pop out of the hole underneath the Glock!
@tnoutdoors9 That's right, you guys have rattlesnakes down there! Seems to me I learned that from the first TNO9 video I ever watched. Well, I'm just glad to hear you're not holding out on any new video editing tricks. Your slow motion audio advice was the best thing I ever learned about Sony Vegas!
Very nice setup for shooting on the move. However, my only concern was the mailbox you shot. So, do you think B.F. will find out? I'm not going to tell him. I imagine that did take a while for you to setup in the woods and it sure looked like a lot of fun shoot the steel targets. Great video!
DO NOT mess with Tennessee Outdoors Nine! Not even if you happen to be a Sasquatch. Be cool with TNO9 or you will go down just like that MGM silhouette target did!
Man where do I begin,,, very good video: camera shots/quality, love the target set-up, cool gun and great story line! We can't even come close to topping this one. Take care, Dino
Yo...Great shooting.... Ummm....looked like BigFoot was a lil PO'd about his mailbox, but he's prob. not a tax payer. Good Video ...makes me kinda want a Glock.......(not..LOL).
Another great video tnoutdoors9 ! I just started making shooting videos of my own and do u think u could check them out?? It would mean a lot if u did! Lol
Oh and anyone else reading this is welcome to check them out or maybe even subscribe:) who knows? I might return the favor:) I shoot some pretty interesting firearms:) thanks for reading this whoever u may be :)
Uh, that was uh, normal speed. I'm just that freaking fast! Seriously, POV with a body cam really shows how fast you are truly moving, or how slow. You do not get the same perspective as someone standing behind you with a camera. On that last segment in the woods, I did two dry runs with live fire only at the magazine change. My third run was live, and it was 30 seconds FASTER than my dry fire runs.
Football shoulder pads. Ran a bolt through center of the plastic section of the left pad, screws up. Bolt is the same diameter as tripod mount for the camcorder. Twist the camera on until it tightens, with the view lined up pretty much straight forward. The pad is taped to the "structure" so that it doesn't bounce. I tried three different positions for the bolt, this is best. Won't work on the right side because of the viewfinder hitting my neck.
Great setup! I am sure all the first-person-shooter video gamers would enjoy this one. I am so curious which 40cal gun you've purchased, but I am sure you'll have it reviewed soon enough. =)
Impossible for the sights to line up with this setup. Motion is also exaggerated anytime you focus a stationary camera like this. Depth of field also impacts the effect even if you are viewing through the sights.
I've tried a helmet cam and it's not much of an improvement. One of my first videos in 2009, I used a wrist cam setup, which is better, but still not spot-on perfect. Brandon401401 is posting down the sights POV. I know how he does it, but I'm not telling.
How close to steel can you be and still be considered safe? I'm new to shooting steel and I don't get any closer than say 20 to 25 ft.. I really like your woods shooting, it's so much cooler feeling in the woods!
These are 500 Brinell, which is equivalent to light armor plating. Handgun bullets shatter, leaving only the jacket base of the bullet. In this video I would get up to 30-40 feet, but no closer. In that first shooting sequence, those last three shots were at the farther target. The camera angle can be misleading, especially in this POV setup. For my .223 shooting I never shoot these below 100 yards, with 200 yds and over being the norm.
I've looked at cameras such as this, GoPro, etc. While they offer nearly unlimited placement options and great video quaility, I've found the audio quality to be lacking. I may be wrong, but I think folks also want to HEAR the gunfire as close to realism as you can get through streaming video.
Your grip affirms my reasoning as to why my slide kept prematurely engaging at the range. I was marrying both thumbs on the frame and it was causing the slide to lock back early. I shall move my right thumb over onto my left thumb ./ hand. Thanks!
@airborne101st45 yea i figured that out few minutes after i left the message.. but i stepped out... Im a 9mm ruger man. i need double action with a hammer
Shooting similar size handguns such as this Glock 22 and the Colt 1911, yes, the .40 muzzle does try to come up on me more than the .45 ACP. I also seem to shoot shorter sight radius handguns better, as in the Glock 19 vs. Glock 17. Regardless of caliber, I just seem to have better rapid fire control with smaller handguns due to my hand having more coverage on the grip.
Bought a 22....and first day on range I was shooting the center out of the target at 7-10yds.
