  • this movie was a pre cursor post Naked City era....few of the actors in this movie starred in the Tv show seven yrs later

  • any1 have Bundle of Joy/

  • This is a pretty realistic movie shows thepolice as insensitve stupid assholes that do nothing for the residents

  • great movie

  • Only Lee Grant's political courage prevented her from becoming a super star. She is is superb in this movie.

  • I thought that Eleanor Parker was incredibly beautiful in this film. I am not a fan of Kirk Douglas, but I do like him. I think that Eleanor in this movie did a better job in all of her scenes, and to be playing a part of a woman that loses her child at birth -that can be very hard to do. The movie in general was great, but I seemed to be staring at Eleanor Parker all the time I believe that she should have gotten that Oscar, and think that she is a wonderful actress.

  • @AvaRitaGrace But it was very difficult for her to win that year because of the incredible performance of Vivien Leig in "A Streetcar named desire". However, as I seem to like her as much as you do, I think she should have gotten the Oscar for "Interrupted Melody". I´m still waiting for her Honorary Award.

  • @mckd3 - I am waiting for the Honorary Award too. She really deserves it, and I hate how she is forgotten nowadays. She's wonderful and most people now don't even know her name. I think it's a shame. Eleanor was nominated three times. She should have gotten an Oscar for at least one. I didn't realize that it was the same year as A Streetcar Named Desire. I can see why Eleanor didn't win.

  • @AvaRitaGrace I think she should have won for "Interrupted Melody". Besides, although not my absolute favorite, this is a very special actress for me as a play the Baroness of "The Sound of music". And she has been very underrated and all because of something extraordinary: her versatility.

  • @mckd3 - Yes, I don't know why she is underrated because she is so good in any kind of role. I want to publicize her name or something like that because she deserves it. Maybe she should have won for Caged. I haven't seen it, but really want to because it looks like she really did a great job. Well whatever movie it is, she definitely is worthy of an Oscar. Now she is retired, so the only award for her work that she can get is an Honorary Award, which we said she should get before.

  • @AvaRitaGrace I totally agree with you. And I know this is going to ring the bell but...she had no chances to won for "Caged" because that year, among her competitors were Bette Davies for "All about Eve" and Gloria Swanson for "Sunset Boulevard", in spite to the fact that neither of them won. Why don´t we organize something to send to the academy asking for her Honorary Oscar. Perhaps if a lot of people support the idea they will remind all her good works. Am I sounding silly?

  • @mckd3 - No, you definitely don't sound silly!! I love that idea!! It is a really good deed to do for Eleanor. Well, how are we going to do this? Do you know if there is a website for the academy? Oh, I didn't think of the other nominees that year. That is true; there was a lot of competition that year.

  • @AvaRitaGrace The Academy has its own web, but I don´t know if it is possible to leave comments or asking petitions. But about the support we need we could leave comment in the Eleanor Parker´s videos and hope for people to answer. Youtube is a very large comunity. There must be somebody who likes her as much as we do.

  • @mckd3 - That is very true. We should do that to start up the petition. Should I just go to all of her videos and bring it up, and then see what people think? I will check out the site and see if I can find anything to help us. I just wanted to say that our doing this is a wonderful endeavor for her. I am so happy to be a part of this because I just want to see her with something that says that she did well in life.

  • @AvaRitaGrace I think she knows she was good in what she did. That´s the best thing. I´ll also put comments in the vids, and, how are we gonna handle the signing? Because we are going to need a list with everybody who agrees with us.

  • Awesome! Thanks for uploading this. Can never find enough classics nowadays.

  • Also singled out should be Joseph Wiseman's wild, enjoyably theatrical performance as Charlie Gennini, a small-time burglar with an impressive rap sheet, and the impossibly pretty Cathy O'Donnell, as always both straightforward and sweet, who manages to be noticeable no matter where she is placed in the frame.

  • An excellent film that still holds up well today. Great cast. Most of them were from the actual original Broadway cast which included Lee Grant. Ms. Grant was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actress and actually won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival that year.
