Just looked up Leo Gordon on Wikipedia. He actually served 4 years in San Quentin for armed robbery before he was an actor and was considered one of their toughest prisoners. Years later, when on location at SQ doing a film, the prison staff still remembered him and he had to submit to a search for weapons every time he entered the prison grounds. He was a big scary dude but a bright man who also wrote a lot of film and television scripts.

I saw Leo Gordon VERY briefly in an episode of "Seaquest" several years ago. He was in sad shape. He obviously had to read his lines off camera and his appearance was very, very short. He was a military officer and had almost nothing to do with the episode. I'm sure that someone who had liked him just wanted him in the show. He was a great bad guy when he was young.
