  • i went to this. saturday july 27th 1991, slough festival 7,000 indie fans in for a day of guitar overload. glorious hot sunny day, slowdive were really good live, ride headlining as darkness fell, an amazing day on every level.

  • One person must have hit the wrong button!!! I glad that you guys that weren't even bor yet are still finding and liking great music!!!

  • thanks for posting - i was there!

  • Oh my ... I was 6 months old .

  • God, this is like...heaven

  • I wasn't even born before this happened. Cruel god.

  • she's so beautiful, and her voice is really sweet

  • 1991 wow oh my goodness, i was just born 2 months before this in may 24th , this is amazing.

  • This song has one of the most epic endings I have ever heard. The last couple of minutes are insane, up there with Bark Psychosis' "The Black Meat" and "Miss Abuse." It's dreadful that they cut it short live.

  • I was at this gig, Ride played as well. Brilliant day out...

  • Slowdive absolutely rules

  • don't care what the sound quality is like, i could watch her all day...

  • Rachel = yum!

  • OoOo I've never gotten the pleasure of hearing it live. Yay

  • Sueadeheadness

  • she is beatiful

  • Damn that's a nice guitar Rachel has.

  • me reenkanta

  • bravisimo

  • ...another slough festival refugee, this was my first proper indie gig, remember beer being something like £2 a can, which was f*cking outrageous at the time..ah happy memories.

  • Fuck i wish these guys made it to AUS back then

  • i just remember the strobes for ride

and some bird saying she needed a place to stay after coming down from Spike island..i didnt offer

  • It was make or break for Curve on that day. They absolutely ripped the place up. The only other two I remember were Slowdive and Ride. I actually went there to see Ride...

  • yes, I was there that day I remember slowdive, although to be fair this is pretty awful. By fair the best band were Ride, who actually finished with the title track Nowhere.

  • Is shoegaze even going anymore, as far as new music? I always loved this stuff!!! I want to start a Cure influenced shoegaze band, as a matter a fact....good luck finding any willing musicians

  • im down

  • so did i!!!! im still living in the past, 34 with child and i still want a shoegaze cure-esque band...i have a beautiful fender jaguar also dying for the opportunity lol! not much chance of that in cork tho :(

  • check out 'sway' - 'the milia pink and green ep', and also 'snow in mexico', as well as 'valet' - 'blood is clean'. relatively recent shoegazey stuff that u might enjoy if u haven't already heard it

  • I'd be down haha, nobody around here even knows what shoegaze/dreampop is. : /

  • july 27th i think. it was a good day

  • Don't remember Chapterhouse or Glitter. I thought it was a 1 day event. Ride did an extended version of Leave Them All Behind. Glorious day.

  • the mock turtles also played. the previous night Gary Glitter headlined!!! i was a young lad then

  • think 1000 yard stare were there too. Maybe swervedriver and chapterhouse also tho not sure. Long time ago, great day out tho

  • Wicked...I was there, down the front. This was a great day out, beautiful weather, good music and affordable beer (remember?) I remember Curve and Ride being on the bill, can anyone jog my memory regarding the whole line-up?

  • Im sure 1000 yard stare were there too. Maybe Chapterhouse also tho not sure...long time ago. Great gig tho

  • I think Ratcat and Soul Family Sensation were on the bill too, though I can only remember Slowdive and Ride's performance

  • My somewhat tatty and faded Slough Music Festival 1991 T-shirt also mentions The Mock Turtles and Revolver.

  • If only the kids today! I can remember going in successive years and can remember The Fall,Curve,S.F.S,Utah Saints with Wayne Hussey,Ride and for some reason standing next to Carter USM?.a brilliant event that I sadly miss! Slowdive pure genius under the cooling towers at Sutton Courtenay!

  • wow, just wow!

  • nice tom tom sound

  • Yeah I used to love watching Simon hit the toms. He was the most entertaining part of the band. Such an awesome drummer.

  • slowdive were great..

  • IndieIndieIndieIndieIndieIndieIndieIndieIndieIndieIndieIndieIndieIndieIndie!
