@CapnParsnips of course mine was only a joke..but the truth is that girls screaming @ live concerts were a reason of retirement of the Beatles from world tours..it was impossible hear their music due to girls shouting excitedly..this is an historic fact..
@ElliotJackRussel Oh yeah, no doubt about that. Anybody screaming excessively during live shows (especially when a song is playing) is as annoying as hell, but MVGN21's chauvinistic attitude is why I called him out as an asshole. It's not directed towards you! Hope I didn't offend! :P
a guitarist with soul (something you don't see much of nowadays) paying respects to a tragic genius who came like 40 years before... EPIC!!! ...the good stuff will NEVER die out!!!
great song isn't that great of a cover but at least they did their early stuff... john musta really liked syd cuz ive seen others covers of his songs... R.I.P. SYD..... and PACKIT
I'm am in awe that Frusciante is out there keeping Syd's music alive. The early Floyd was hugely influential in Britain, but disappeared without a trace in the U.S. so most people have never heard it. It's gutsy of him to play that for a RHCP crowd that just wants to hear "Under The Bridge" again. His take on it was great - without a full band and in memory of a fellow musician who died way too young, slow and soft was the right way to go.
I have no idea why you would make a statement like that. Syd was a very sad chapter in rock,a very interesting witty songwriter who never made it past 1968 because of the acid. Does losing your sanity after a very brief time of writing songs earn you cred? Syd's stuff is very dated now, where as Waters and Gilmore's music evolved and still sounds fresh and dynamic today. When I hear Syd, I like the stuff ... but I'm thinking, oh what might have been. When I hear the Floyd I'm thinking HELL YEA.
thats the reason all these metal/shred guitarists will never come close to being as talented as john. playing fast is something you can learn, playing with soul and emotion is something that can't be taught
Wow, what a voice, didn't know he had it in him. This song sounds great when there's guitar chords played in the background instead of the Pink Floyd version, which is still pretty decent.

john is totally clean . hes obsessed with health and only putting good things into his body. he freaks out if he eats a cookie, i cant imagine him smoking a joint now adays.
no, the journalist hinted he wasnt drug free. I would bet ten hundred bucks hes clean. especially not on hard drugs for fricks sakes that stuff.. and you dont make an album as clean and sober sounding as stadium arcadium on any kind of drug.
Dude I'm not saying he's back on drugs, I more then anyone don't want him to go back down that road again, i'm just saying what i read the interviewer saying.
Concerning him messing up a bit on the words, can you really blame him, drugs or not? I mean think of all the stuff all the chord patterns and rhythms he has to have crammed in his head being the guitarist that he is, add onto that all of the background vocals, it's not surprising that he might occasionally make a slip in remembering lyrics.
heroin? i hardly doubt it... his arms couldn't take it but if you mean weed, there's been some discussion lately that he might be using weed so i don't know.. i just try to mind my own business and keep my mind on the music.
i know, i was just simply stating. people can get really aggressive here, that's why i hate posting videos sometimes. have you seen all the comments on that jf '89 guitar solo? my god people can be so ignorant.
I don't think I claimed the peppers are currently on drugs in my above post, I said his brain was affected from the years of drug abuse. big difference little boy
he he, you angry teenagers are funny. like you OWN the peppers. I've been listening to them since 1988, I've got a fair idea of what the story is. you can't tell me Frusciante's not a casualty. his arms are fucked from injected incorrectly and his got no teeth left, he wears falseys. and he always gets the words wrong with covers. check out "You and whos army", ghost horses...
So sorry to upset your little fragile world with my callous tongue! Ask Mummy for a hug, you'll feel better :-D
it isnt because he is still in drugs its because he used a LOT of drugs when he was young and that really fucked him up but now he is sober believe me
and the thing with the arms
obviously its because he used drugs thats for sure but also he has his arms fucked up because he put him self on fire years ago and that left him the scars that he has now
i second that. his been off drugs for 9 years assfuck. im sick of people still saying the peppers are druggies and shit still. ingnorent fucks like you need go in a hole somewhere and die. quit poisoning our minds with your bullshit.
