  • convict carl u funni guy ua eke pihia, ko e kehe noa ni e tau manatu ka ha lmbo fakalofa ha ! lol

  • Hey does anyone know the name and artist of the song? lols it sounds mean.

  • congrats Nessa...we went to USP together...Faleteu and Me, Maima lol hope ya still remember!!!!

  • love this performance, whether it is modern or traditonal, niue is beautiful and her island people, culture heritage, and it is a blessing to have such richness in oneself, it doesn't matter if a person is 1/16 1/4 1/2 of full, its within u..i am not nuiean but of another small island, rotuma (smaller!) and like niue, faces similar discussions..we are all of the pacific..this is one thing that stands true, and for the person who posted the video, thank u for sharing it with us..

  • cest manifique

  • hi um i am a niuean and i think our island is cool lol hahahahaha

    like how u dance

  • so niue was settled by tonga samoa & pukapuka - 100's of years ago. Niue has since developed its own unique dance. As reddrose09 has pointed out - the next generation are adapting other pacific dances because they are seen as more attractive than the "manly stoic movement" of niuean girls.lmao (quote by reddrose09). So its not about embracing the origins of niueans but more about making the niuean dance more interesting & attractive to the audience.

  • pssh if you guys didnt know us niueans believe that our ancestors came from three places in the pacific, Tonga, Samoa and Pukapuka (in the cook islands),

so 9434893 what you need to do is nt dis our niuean culture and say tht it is a shame if you ask me us niueans hve a unique way of embracement through dance, music, and art to represent a mixture of elements of where our ancestors are from...

  • Gorgeous. Congratulations all the best.

  • very nice...shes so cute

  • Evolution is what this dance represents to me and its a great thing. Its about time that Niue moved out of the manly stoic dance movement for women and let the next generation sway, free flow and move around.

she should be congratulated not compared.

  • Kuki islands they used to say copied from Tahiti...hey neneva katu kanga. Go back to history and learn how niue was settled from Eastern Polynesia and later from Tonga and Samoa just like Tangiia settled in Raro...kite koe? No? Thats ok, let us just enjoy the Miss South Pacific 2008 shall we? Ka kite. Yes there are lots of half Kukis half Niue too. And we proud of it very muchly.

  • What constitutes Cook Island dance? If you guys don't know the history of Niue try not to assume. Just watch the video and enjoy, this is Niue, and it is us. Presumptions are subjective and coloured with bias but then, you already know that - dont you.

  • Is this a Cook Islands dance or a Niue? didnt know Niuean people dance like Cook Islanders? ..Anyways congrats to her!!!

  • yeah..niueans tend to embrace other pacific cultures instead of their own..such a shame considering the niuean culture is going to be lost.

    congratz miss niue!!!

  • That is a shame! Thanks for replying to my comment.

  • kai e ule ma lapi
