  • I wish I knew how all this worked...:p

  • i would love to sample this...

  • sounds like R2\D2 on crack

  • so much time, money and effort spent and you can't even make anything that sounds remotely good to the ears -.-

  • hi hyperguy... silly question: so you actually use several buchlas to make this? or what is the "158" you mention above? or is it a single buchla 200 (looks a bit like the number 6 system proposed on the buchla site, right? or to which none does it correspond?? great, anyway!

  • @vakulintschuk Hi. Yes , in this video there are 2 different Buchla systems cross patched into one another. One is the 200e including modules of my own choosing. And the one on the right is an old Buchla 100 from about 1967. The "158" is the model number of the oscillator in the older system. Thank you for your comment!

  • Hell yea! Very VERY nice patch! Really expresses the Buchla's signature unique sound qualities. Very very nice.

  • @OfficialWillEP Thank you! Glad you like it.

  • shitty quality -1

  • This is what it sounds like when galaxies collide.

  • how much are these things

  • this sound makes me step to the stars...

  • Such amazing machines, such a lousy video.

  • Sorta new to modulars here. What exactly does the Buchla arbitrary function module do (that circular, knobby one)?

  • like I had mentioned on my comment in the other video, Im not too certain of modular synths. Could you make a video of you going through the process of making sounds like this? If you dont already.

  • AMAZING

  • sounds awesome

  • what produces the sound? does a keyboard have to be hooked up?

  • @ballyslapface You do not need a keyboard to be hooked up. You can if you like , but i prefer not to. The instrument produces the sound according to how you patch it up.

  • wow this stuff looks amazing haha, especially the octopus thing.

  • IMMA FIRIN' MAH BUCHLAS!!! BLAAAARRGGg!!

  • Cool! I love this old crap!

  • Beautiful !! Thanks

  • most of the modular videos i've seen are basically demos from noise artists, but this one actually makes me want a 200e

  • should be hearing some sounds like this from deadmau5 soon!

  • what is deadmau5? excuse my ignorance :)

  • he's an electro house producer and unique live performer (not dj he produces the tunes live on set) check out his website and you tube for his tunes!

On his blog he recently purchased 2 buchlas not sure which ones. but the import duty alone was $20,000 (canadian dollars)

  • @rossuk123 doesn't "produce tracks live on set" brother.. he launches them using abelton and gives them a live polish by triggering loops and using effects over the original production. Its a much easier way to play live, some argue its cheating, I don't think so though, I think if you have the skill to make such incredible productions, you deserve not having to beat match etc with some annoying cdj's.

  • @ozzlanda yes much better description :)

  • @ozzlanda - agree with your point about live vs DJ-ing. You dont even need

to be able to beatmatch now if you dont want to with Traktor etc.

  • @rossuk123 and still that won't make him do anything more than mediocre electro-house shit. sorry to say but it's obviously just a waste of some awesome machine-power :((

  • deadmau5 is one of the best dj's around right now if not the best...he has recently bought a buchla and has been experimenting with it quite a bit

  • @calzowned Deadmau5 is mediocre at best. Done a couple good tracks but that's about it.

  • @jamiabarnes11 its all a matter of opinion i guess...i happen to love his productions and he certainly has a gigantic following of crazy fans...but not everyone likes him

  • That's the thing though, he's the tip of the ice berg when it comes to generic electronic music. There are many other producers out there that are doing far more fresh things on more of a budget than he could possibly do. However, said producers are generally keeping low key.

  • believe me, you don't need to know :)

  • @hyperguy61 deadmau5 is an electronica producer

  • @hyperguy61 don't even bother. deadmau5 is an overrated icon to the "alternative" movement of today.

  • @hyperguy61 YouTube what "deadmau5" is. And haha he has just bought one!

  • @hyperguy61 he has a buchla actually

  • @hyperguy61 Yeah, screw deadmau5, give one of these to Autechre! I wouldn't be suprised if they're already familiar with Buchlas...

  • @rossuk123 lol

  • bro this looks like the inside of the appolo lnar module. hahaha, true gear head!

  • I am sure this system could take you to the moon!

  • I envy you machines!!!!

    Buchla FTW!!

  • Enough respect

  • OMFG! Awesome!

  • All hail Don Buchla.

  • indeed!

  • Hi Hype!. tell me something, the thing on the left with all the lights, looks like the new buchla, and the one on the right with,no lights looks like a vintage buchla, what's the story with that, and how much will the buchla u have with the lights cost???.

  • Hi. The one on the left is one of the newer machines. It costs about $22,000 . The one on the right is from about 1966.

  • pretty awesome...imagine that system thru a big rig at a festy...!

  • i imagine that alot!

  • *g* very nice sound. Do you have more?

  • Holy crap that sounds amazing. Could have gone on for a lot longer. Thx for uploading

  • I wish I could buy this (in a nice transparent 12" pressing).

  • It's nice to see some Buchla videos that DON'T belong to Mr. Alessandro Cortini.

    Good job, awesome filter!
