it's just a thought, maybe way off, but i would guess that asian choirs often match vowels very well because they often sing repertoire not in their own language, and so they must learn the vowels as a group without outside influence.
This is beautiful. That's what I love about music, it transcends race, religion, creed and etc... I think Music is is close as we get to understanding the glory and love of God.
@callmetricia Or just love? I mean, God doesn't always have to come into it. In the translation of the lyrics, God is not mentioned, and one can experience love outside of a belief in God.
what's really funny is she does more or less exactly what my choir director does. 2:55 - 2:58 reminded me of him lol. xP loved singing this piece last year :3
This is one of the songs I am singing for County Chorus. I'm glad I'm listening to it now instead of waiting and trying to sight sing it without knowing how it goes! This really helps!
They're song which I hated so much when practiced...cuz it's too hard and complicated to sing. But later I fell in love with them,ha! They're amazing.
Gorgeous!!!!!!!!! i am in my high school's chamber choir and my director makes everyone tryout for an honor choir, and we had to learn this piece for the tryouts (WHICH ARE 2 DAYS AWAY!!!) so i'm nervous, but its so pretty and i'd love to sing this song live! .......Good Job!!!!!!
I've found that no matter how many choirs I watch, the asian ones always have this huge, amazing sound. I don't know what it is, but it is damn consistent.
My choir sang these in high school. They were a lot of fun and I'd have to say Rakut (the 5th movement) was a group favorite.
who cares if theyre chinese, japanese, taiwanese, or whatever?! point is its a bunch of asians singing hebrew music. it just doesnt mix. or so i thought, i was wrong this group is awesome they did a good job! yay eric whitacre i love u! lmao
we were going to do this last year.. but then our teacher decided not to.. and this year, the new guy didn't even look at it.. and i'm not in choir next year =( how sad.. i'll just find the soprano version and sing that on my own!
Hebrew is my second language but I understood it rather well. I have trouble understanding choirs singing in English! they did rather well. I helped a HS choir director with Erev Shel Shoshanim once and his kids did great. One was from Finland and he did it solo for contest and was amazing. He could do Het and Khaf , make distinct zayins and pure Israeli Hebrew vowels, not drawls like the Americans. We should sing so well in CHINESE.
this is absolutely amazing, but i must say (and you can thumbs-down me for it), as a native hebrew speaker, it was pretty hard for me to distinguish the words..maybe because its a choir. anyhow, this is great!
This is exquisite. I am in a Jewish choir and I speak Hebrew. This choir does an amazing job with the language! I also love the conductor. She has the most wonderful spirit. I'm so glad I found this video
charming conductor and good choral singing

This composition is even more beautiful when you understand what they're speaking in Hebrew.
You guys should really look up their meanings.

I love this song to bits. Our high school's choir sang these songs this year, and I never seemed to get tired of them.
The conducting and choir are both great, too. I especially liked the way that "Kala Kalla" was conducted. c:

This was amazing. The hi 'Ti', though, was ear splitting. They need to think te rather than ti. It was beautiful and great, though. Fantastic work.
