I've tried out macmenubar for a while, but is a really instable code for now, and i've read that the author is in Irak so no improvements for a while..
Macmenubar isn't capable of make the background transparent so i wouldn't fit with the leopard look.

all you need now is the mac menu applet (search ubuntu forums) and it would be like osx linux
