I wonder if this novelty of this is that she's young, female, and pretty and some people wouldn't expect such a person in that profession. If Amy were a creepy old man Amy probably wouldn't get a clip.

Still, she did a good job. Surely you have to do something else to the hide, though right? I mean, she left the feet on there. That wouldn't start to stink? I don't know much about it.

@Travesty1 yes theres alot more she did . you have to turn the ears ,slit the eyes and lips . flesh the hide of any extra fat or meat . then it needs to be tanned. then take your measurements of the hide to order your manikin to put the hide on . once yo get or manikin you have to prep it . sand it with sand paper . put the eyes in and apply hide paste . lol i could go on and on . i have showed many young people how to do taxidermy to get them on the right track in life and out off the wrong

Thats some nice work you do. Wasabirock55 your thoughts are "ok" but why would you want a mount of a sick dying, manged animal? There's more to it than just killing and mounting. Most Mounts have an amazing story behind them and having it keeps the story and memory alive. Like a photo album but better

why people automaticly think us taxidermists kill animals purposely  to make money i dont know .here in britain we are ruled by defra and we have to show cause of death of all protected animals and birds and we try to make our mounts look natural and as true to life as possible many of us are animal lovers also and appreciate the beuty of them .mounting a animal found laying dead on the road and making it look alive again is more satisfying than leaving it there to rot

@galarkongen clearly. 'Cause shooting up animals so that you can hang their stuffed carcasses on the wall is clearly the act of someone who 'loves nature a bunch'. I don't have a problem with taxidermy if the animals are hunted for meat and the skins are just a biproduct. But if you shoot more animals than you need to survive- or don't need them to survive at all and you just eat the meat out of principle- that's just as bad as leaving the skinned carcasses to rot.

I'm a taxidermist , I wouldn't mind showing her how to mount ducks and geese if she showed me how to keep my shop that clean. When I skin the birds and extract the body I usually save the meat if it smells good and the guts aren't to shot up. If its not good i still dont waste, It makes a good treat for my chesapeake Susie who is usually the one who retrieved it for me.

I think if the animal Is dead already from a natural reason like old age or starvation, or secluded away from the pack, then I guess it's a good idea to perform taxidermy on it. But killing it is wrong. Just my thoughts

Okay around the 5:40 mark. Do you hunt with a cross bow. UM Yeah sorry thats a compound bow, cross bows have a trigger like a gun they use shorter arrows and have actual scopes on them. But all in all cool video.

They are "ACTUALY" called BOLTS not ammunition, ammunition is a bullet or a shotgun shell (Look it up). Second almost all the cross bows that I have seen today being used comes with scope, unless your using something from the 1700's. Thirdly I wasn't talking shit just pointing it out the she is using a compound bow. Fourth and final one take you comment and shove it :-)
