  • @StalinistFist Du bist ein Kind, Du Stalinist.

  • Where is part 10???

  • Joe Davis a man with an objective mind

  • @mrbusy - I am currently undertaking a university course, and the subject I am studying at the moment is the changing reputation of Stalin. I have known about this film for some time, but this is the first time I have been able to see more than a few seconds. Are you able to post the rest? Is it commercially available anywhere? For my studies it is absolutely invaluable.

  • @CinnAlla Sorry I thought I had uploaded all so I deleted. I think you can find easily with emule of other P2P programs. I myself am very curious about Stalin. good work on your study.

  • @mrbusy I can recommend the two biographical works, "Young Stalin" and "In the Court of the Red Tsar" by Simon Sebag Montefiore.

You have probably uploaded half of the movie, I think. It is a very rare piece, mostly because of its political naivety; but it's essential viewing for a student. Luckily you managed to include Manart Kippen's major scene as Stalin.

I can recommend CBS's 1958 "The Plot to Kill Stalin", which is available on line, and BBC's "WW2 Behind Closed Doors" (on YouTube)

  • @CinnAlla it was on TCM several months ago, if that helps

  • @1276epr LOL only if I have a TARDIS! Seriously, thanks for this info - I have TCM on cable, so I'll keep looking to see if they ever repeat it. Maybe I'll contact the channel.

  • @CinnAlla I kinda doubt they will repeat it anytime soon, it was on a special series of American films about Germany, then Russia, etc. I would guess it is in their sales catalog, which I receive but don't retain. Unfortunately the prices to buy films out of that catalog are not cheap. I don't know if libraries have it or not. BTW WW2 Behind Closed Doors episodes have been removed from YouTube, so it's nice we saw them while they lasted.

  • @1276epr Behind Closed Doors was a great series, but better still is reading Simon Sebag Montefiore's two biographical books about Stalin - absolutely riveting.

Anyhow, there's no harm in contacting TCM. Mission to Moscow is awful but engaging, and an interesting historical artifact in its own right.

  • Josef Davies was an usefull idiot or, simply saying, a liar. His apologia for Stalinism is untill today unbelievable. The true title of his book - and a movie based on it - should be named "SUBmission to Moscow". :((

  • What a splendid piece of propoganda... but where is the rest of this farce?

  • Stalin launched a command economy, replacing the New Economic Policy of the 1920s and launching a period of rapid industrialization and economic collectivization.

  • On the other hand, Lenin is quoted to have said "The NEP is in earnest and long-term" which has been used to surmise that if Lenin were to stay alive longer, NEP would have continued beyond 1929, and the disastrous collectivization would have never happened, or it would have been carried out differently.

  • Lenin had also been known to say about NEP: "We are taking one step backward to later take two steps forward", suggesting that the NEP would slowly morph into something else as soon as the economy was prepared.

  • (The New Economic Policy (NEP) was an economic policy proposed by Vladimir Lenin to prevent the Russian economy from collapsing. Allowing some private ventures, the NEP allowed small businesses or shops, for instance, to reopen for private profit while the state continued to control banks, foreign trade, and large industries.)

  • Thank you for movie, please show part 10 and beyond to finish movie. It's very interesting!

  • where is part 10?

  • thank you for such a thoughtful and intelligent movie. it is a testament to your intellect,
