if you like use a small drill bit and drill a hole in the back of the rocket

(not the side you light it only about 1/8 inch deep to get past end plug

add about 1 tsp of F grade black powder and glue a cap over the end

and you got rocket powered M80's i do this a lot but i have lots a space

do not repeat DO NOT use exothermic glue (gets hot as it dries)

it can set off the powder

nice nice. but it lacks accuracy, remember rocket's have stabilizer fins,try different things to make it better like adding grooves inside the barrel  or adding fins to the rocket engine. nothing fancy tho.

Haha I'm actually making a Vex rockett launcher now. Except you can aim it. I already built my rocket its called the Hi-Flier. Haha, and I'm thinking about strapping an M-80 to the top with gasoline in the shaft, and make it an impact-explosive :D

yah. well I'm hoping to get a hobby cam to put on it too :D. My current problem is that the robot's servo's arn't strong enough. And I don't know how to make an impact fuse. I'm thinking about running a fuse in the inside and calculate when it will hit the ground. Then run it up to some gasoline and flash powder. Boom

hmm would use a different method. a bit harder to make but nontheless; break apart a simple lighter, best an electrical and try do some engineering on it so it would fit in the rocket's warhead. the shell of the warhead should be attached to the lighter in a manner that when i hits sumfin, it starts the lighter, and since u said what the warhead is going to be made off, it should be a nice boom =)

hmm thats a god idea. Another one would to be to make a circuit with 2 or 3 watch batteries, and some steal wool. Flash powder is EXTREMELY strong (used in dynamite) so all I need to get is a simple shock. So set the steel wool to fall opon impact. But im wondring if the zero-g fall at the peak of my rocket could disturb it, and blow it up in the air. Im lauching the Estes "Hi-Flier" if you want to google it :D. Weighs 0.82 oz (without paint)

actually in dynamite its (forgive me if i spell wrong) trinytrotholuen, which is a bit differnet as flas, but its powerful still. and i think it would work well, but make some tests first, except if its a bit expenisve. :P

Its just flash powder with sulfur, but ye olden dynamite was purely a BIG m-80 lol. But I dont know about the warhead. I am lucky enought to have parents that got me a vex kit. I also got treads, a rocket, and a PWM switch for the rocket ignition. In total about 400 dollars. But you can ALWAYS make other robots. And for the this project I really only needed to get the PWM switch and rocket. So I only spent 40 dollars. Which really isnt too bad. You should invest in a vex kit :D. But my next idea

Model rocket engine? Awesome. Completely unstabilized in flight, but I'm sure that with a little tweaking (ahem, fins) you can get twice the range out of it easy. Love the 1812 Overture as well. Good choice.

Dude word of advice. Using like some sort of heavy paper make fins for the rocket, then when you load it, wrap the fins tight to the engine. When fired the fins unwrap and stabilize the rocket. Takes a couple tries to perfect but can pay off

This is cool but its not as complicated as you may think.

Its just a simple chassis with a pvc tube in the middle. Then its a d/o port that turns on and sets off the rocket when a specific button is pushed.

I am going to make an MLRS later but i don't know if i will load up all 4 rocket tubes because they are expensive.
