I actually felt safer in the train. Just outside that door was the overhead walkway. It was a nervous few minutes waiting to see when it was going to stop.
WOW! Crazy! I would not want to be in the subway during that violent of a quake, but it looks to be that it was pretty safe. Glad everyone was okay down there.
@thabboy I wouldn't be surprised if that is true: the train is kind of a cage, so it's probably safer to be in there than out on the platform with all kinds of stuff that could fall down.

@MisoMichelle In the San Francisco Bay Area, We've been told that people on our BART system are safer in a train. Amazing.
