This was really in the sky. It was a smoke ring. My video was featured last night on the SyFy channel show Fact or Faked: Paranormal files. Even they agree that the this is a REAL video of a smoke circle in the sky.
GOD! This is a smoke ring from volcano, why else does this same " UFO" appear in so many videos?!?!?! And if u search paramounts kings dominion 2004 at fifty four seconds in u can see the smoke taking the shape of a ring! I'm not usually like this but this smoke ring has Been on the news! oh cool, someone captured an image of this! I worked at king's dominion in the parking lot. It was a smoke ring from the volcano, from when it spews out those big flames. It doesn't happen often... but the ring eventually broke apart when it got higher in the air. It was awesome looking though; very eerie.
No way no how is this a smoke cloud! The exact same thing was seen in Fort Belvoir VA back in the 60's or 70's and over Florida in 1999. The videos are here on Youtube. I do believe in UFO's so once I saw this video I knew exactly what it was...or could be! I live in Virgina about 30/40 mins from Kings Dominion.
Agreed with you all. If you're gonna call it a smoke ring, or something else....call it something you have AT LEAST SEEN. When in your life have you seen a floating smoke ring just sit there for over a minute keeping it's shape? Ummmm, i'm gonna guess never. The description says there wasn't much wind that day, but what difference does that make? For one thing, the wind would likely be more aggressive at the "smoke ring's" altitude, not to mention the fact that even if there WERE no wind up there, I seriously doubt the shape would remain so perfect for so long. If aliens are intelligent enough for interstellar travel, I think they can time an ascent from a friggin' roller coaster, so as to remain fairly inconspicuous.

I seriously doubt a smoke ring has the ability to do that. The changing of shape could have been caused either by an oddly-built spacecraft, or perhaps by awkward movement. But if it were a smoke ring, no matter how it moved, in that amount of time it would have HAD to lose some substance or deteriorate.

I'm not denying that it's a smoke ring, but I have never seen Volcano produce a ring of smoke, only puffs of smoke. They don't even start off as rings from my experience, so even on a windless day you wouldn't have this effect.

I've been to Kings Dominion a dozen times or more. Yes there is a volcano that produces smoke, but I've never seen it produce anything like that. Notice the wind is blowing by looking at the trees. How would the smoke ring stay so perfect all the way up like that? Not on the stillest of days has it ever looked like that.

Guys, this is a smoke ring from Volcano when it used to have fire. I've been there enough times and seen the smoke rings enough to know that. I'm not sure if Cedar point does the fire anymore, but if it does, watch for the fire, then the smoke ring will apear shortly after. If you don't know where Volcano is, it's near Avalanche and Tomb Raider fire fall, now known as the Crypt.

Yeah i was there too. I saw it and it stood there for a while! No smoke ring would do that. What was so weird about it though it stood there for about 4 minutes and then went away.

On Kings Dominion's facebook profile they have a picture of the exact same ring over the Volcano. You can even see the tail of smoke from the Volcano.

my family and i saw the same thing today... 8/27/2009 about 6ish over the Kingda Ka at six flags great adventure in NJ. coincidenally the ride had technical difficulties and did not resume operating until the ring disappeared into the clouds. lots of other people around us saw this as well.
We saw the same exact thing on the same day, though it was after Kingda Ka re-opened, about an hour later, while we were in line for El Toro. Then after a few minutes, it was gone.

Here's what you're all missing. Even if the clouds are not moving, time is still passing, smoke dissipates! This is not doing anything. Have you ever actually been to Kings Dominion and seen the smoke from Volcano? It doesn't stay a solid circle for 1 second, let alone two minutes of perfect, non moving smoke. You're fooling yourself if you think this is smoke. Is it a alien spacecraft? No idea. But it's not smoke.

The point that many of you keep missing that is irrefutable... the clouds are moving and the "smoke" is not. That is impossible. Not to mention that if there were enough wind to move the clouds, the smoke would have dissipated and not stayed in a perfect geometric pattern.
First off, no smoke anything will last about 10 mins. That can't happen. If you watch Burning man or any of the other videos, the smoke disappears by the end of the 1-2 min video. So if this is up for 10 mins, it can't be smoke.

as much as i am a firm believer in ufos and aliens this looks to me like a sheet of glass with a circle in it, clearly at the start of the video sequence can be seen a part of the roof above the camera which moves in perfect alignment to the circle and also moves in symetry to the camera movement, easily proved by simply replaying the first few frames rpeatedly using your mouse. Sorry my opinion is this one is a fake. Also the distance perspective of the object seems closer that led to believe.

please tell me how this is a smoke ring. i would like to know. honestly it isnt a smoe ring, first off it stays around to long, second off its too perfect of a circle, and the top of the volcano is circuler at all its miss shapened. And finally the volcano dosent shoot out smoke rings if you ever watch it.

@anthobro123 first of all it has the characteristics of a smoke ring, second of all its not a pefect circle, its almost an oval, and third of all it doesnt matter what the top of the volcano is anyways.

I've been to Kings Dominion a dozen times or more. Yes there is a volcano that produces smoke, but I've never seen it produce anything like that. Notice the wind is blowing by looking at the trees. How would the smoke ring stay so perfect all the way up like that? Not on the stillest of days has it ever looked like that.

Given the fact that there is a volcano ride *which makes smoke rings* in the same park I'd say it'd be pretty silly to suggest this is anything other than a smoke ring. The weather conditions were probably coincidentally just right for it to stay intact that long.

Guys, this is a smoke ring from Volcano when it used to have fire. I've been there enough times and seen the smoke rings enough to know that. I'm not sure if Cedar point does the fire anymore, but if it does, watch for the fire, then the smoke ring will apear shortly after. If you don't know where Volcano is, it's near Avalanche and Tomb Raider fire fall, now known as the Crypt.

its no smoke ring, its consistency wouldn't stay the same and it wouldn't last that long in that same shape. look at the smoke rings on the playa burning man 2008 video. thats what a proper smoke ring would look like. this is nothing like it.

Yeah i was there too. I saw it and it stood there for a while! No smoke ring would do that. What was so weird about it though it stood there for about 4 minutes and then went away.

Dude, I'm not trying to B.S you, but I've worked security for three seasons at the park. I remember working this day and thinking "Man, that smoke ring has hung around for a WHILE." Me and some of the lifeguards were remarking about it in the water park, by the walk way passing Tidal Wave Bay. I don't deny the existance of alliens or other beings, but this instance is a smoke ring from the roller coaster Volcano.

This ring looks EXACTLY like the ones from 1957 and 1999 - footage was taken from 2 different locations: Ft. Belvoir, VA & Orlando, FL. Weird, huh?

i have no idea what that is. i just have a few question: why isnt moving with the wind, as we can see from the right side to the left. why doesnt it loose it's form? then when its no smoke, or baloon (wind), what a phenomenom or if its an aircraft, where is the engine? you know guys, i dont know all the physical rules, but it makes me question alot. i would love to have some experts giving us a resonable explanation. that's my opinion

For those of you who are so damn convinced this is an alien space craft or a UFO of any sort, go to Kings Dominion-go quick seasons about to end- and see the smoke rings for your damn self. While I'm sure the volcano would be fun if it just shot fire it is designed to shoot smoke rings that stay together-it is after all an amusement park. To capture footage like this again go on a wet and windless day and you'll see it for yourself. David Copperfield does not make the elephant disappear.

my family and i saw the same thing today... 8/27/2009 about 6ish over the Kingda Ka at six flags great adventure in NJ. coincidenally the ride had technical difficulties and did not resume operating until the ring disappeared into the clouds. lots of other people around us saw this as well.

We saw the same exact thing on the same day, though it was after Kingda Ka re-opened, about an hour later, while we were in line for El Toro. Then after a few minutes, it was gone.

i was just at kings dominon yesterday and the volcano ride is not that close to the drop tower. and when the volcano blast the fire the black smoke disappears in a matter of a few seconds.

Waynerd, if you were actually watching the video, the clouds were NOT moving, she was just moving the camera.
Also, I think if you would've looked around-to the maker of this video- you would've seen the volcano ride from the peak of the drop zone. It's clearly the smoke from the volcano, and its not perfect, just the darker parts are in a circle, the lighter parts spread out

Here's what you're all missing. Even if the clouds are not moving, time is still passing, smoke dissipates! This is not doing anything. Have you ever actually been to Kings Dominion and seen the smoke from Volcano? It doesn't stay a solid circle for 1 second, let alone two minutes of perfect, non moving smoke. You're fooling yourself if you think this is smoke. Is it a alien spacecraft? No idea. But it's not smoke.

The point that many of you keep missing that is irrefutable... the clouds are moving and the "smoke" is not. That is impossible. Not to mention that if there were enough wind to move the clouds, the smoke would have dissipated and not stayed in a perfect geometric pattern.

First off, no smoke anything will last about 10 mins. That can't happen. If you watch Burning man or any of the other videos, the smoke disappears by the end of the 1-2 min video. So if this is up for 10 mins, it can't be smoke.

as much as i am a firm believer in ufos and aliens this looks to me like a sheet of glass with a circle in it, clearly at the start of the video sequence can be seen a part of the roof above the camera which moves in perfect alignment to the circle and also moves in symetry to the camera movement, easily proved by simply replaying the first few frames rpeatedly using your mouse. Sorry my opinion is this one is a fake. Also the distance perspective of the object seems closer that led to believe.

its from the volcano, when the fire comes out, it also creates smoke, and because of the opening of the volcano, it sometimes makes a smoke ring. ive seen it like 15 times
