  • wtf you put ads on this?

  • To theRoseofmyheart ~ No, that would be the copyright owners UMG

    ;-j

  • @ELGROOVER oh, see. I am glad because that would be unbelievably ironic otherwise. Anyway, thats for posting it. Take care.......Rose

  • They should play this tune every time the US votes at the UN..

  • Of course it's still relevant today... the brainwashing and manipulation is still being orchestrated by the same lying deceiving Parasites as it was then! If and When Americans can "Wake-Up!" and realise just how serious this manipulation and denial of the truth and facts are, and how long it's been going on for and by Whom... They probably wouldn't believe it! "Everyone" should read: wake-upbeforeitstoolate(dot)com and see how America is being eaten alive by these deceiving, Hidden Parasites!

  • remember this from years back, still relevant

  • Fuck i love this album, i had this tape the 1st day it came out XD

  • Quality music never dates, no matter what the 'genre'. This album doesn't feel at all dated. I think it was ahead of its time, and now because it isn't tits&ass, it won't get discovered by the next generation, which makes me kind of sad.

  • "the failure found in the luxury not the hardship" -- great line and so true.

  • raps that make you think. when hip hop was relevant and going somewhere.

  • Great track and more important now than ever.

  • Forgot how awesome D.H. of H. was....makes me want to go vote for Clinton again.

  • boabs

  • Nearly 20 years later, the album has turned out to be prophetic. "Calfornia" (Ahnuld), "Health Risk", "Television", "Long Hot Summer" (Gulf Wars 1 and 2), "INS Greencard" (Arizona's racist law), "Language of Violence", "Famous and Dandy" (rap is all tits and ass), etc.

Every song has a parallel to things going on today. It's an album that deserves and demands another listen. Unfortunately, it is quality music, not lowest common denominator crap, so few people want to hear it.

  • @zxcv1234vcxz I reckon it somes up life...

  • @zxcv1234vcxz I was thinking exactly the same thing when I pulled this cd out and listened to it all the way through the other day. I'm inspired to share this cd with my younger friends who never heard it.

  • @styngalyng Forgot how awesome D.H. of H. was....makes me want to go vote for Clinton again.

  • @styngalyng i have the TAPE!!!! props! Raise the double standard!!!

  • @zxcv1234vcxz And, of course, "Hypocrisy"(still the greatest luxury). Raise the double standard.

  • There's no blind faith here and therefore there's nothing racist about it. The fact that Obama is President is amazing and Franti wanted to be part of that. The fact is that Obama is one of the best realistic candidates for President there has ever been (but still not good enough I realise that). I don't think Franti's views have ever really changed. He has just changed partly what he writes about.

  • There's nothing racist about it, a black man being president is amazing . The whole Obama thing is amazing and Frnati wanted to be part of it as did many people. Having said that, Franti would have just blindly voted for him, he does know what he's doing and has many good policies.

  • ELGROOVER,

you're aso wrong. I don't see what is so bad about Franti endorsing Obama. Obama is a lefty isn't he? Sure he's not left-wing enough, but do u really expect America to have a socialist president anytime soon? There were only 2 realistic winners in thsi race and Franti endorsed and voted for the centre-left liberal, who is very intelligent and is doing many good things worldwide.

  • new world order doesnt exist bro

  • great lyrics ..... franti rules

  • True lyrics, awesome dancing beat

  • Great album. Love this title track. Awesome. Everybody ranting about where Franti is now. Personally, i'm enjoying this for what it is & never really dug spearhead anyway. Not edgy enough for me. For your information this album is produced by Jack Dangers of Meat Beat Manifesto an amazing producer giving this album it's semi industrial sound

  • Allright, great info, you know what you saying!!

  • well said ,,

  • He used to be so brilliant because he was himself with his voice that was saying what he wanted to say and oh boy did he get his point across with his awesome music.

The base, the treble don't make a rebel, wow dude, wow.

later he wanted to be black ans stuff, talk about beans and rice, what a waste of this awesome tallent.

He used to be just him, just Michael franti a human being, not black not white just michael.

Listen to waterpistol man or Socio-Genetic Experiment and you will know.

  • he wanted to be black? talk about beans and rice?

    fuck off

  • You Fuck off

  • amazzn album michael franti is a genuiz ,,

  • Yup, though it's a shame he doesn't use his genius like he used to. Somewhere along the the way he lost his bollocks and his 'bottle'. He's another Obama supporter, so disappointing, as is his genial Eddy Grant type limp head in the clouds jive turkey th@ he does now with Spearhead. To be fair I've not heard a gre@ deal of his recent music but wh@ I have heard made me queasy. It's more than disappointing, it's bloody frightening to see him become a Disposable Zero Of Idiocracy. He's a turncoat.

  • thnkz for the comment ,, i dont agree 100percent wit everything u say but i know were ur cumn frm ,, couple gud trackz like yell fire ,,time to go home are gud ,, hav u checked them out ,,

  • Yell Fire & Time To Go Home, no I've not heard them ; I'll give them a listen.

Still, I'm shocked to recently find th@ he's swallowed the Obama razmataz. He's hawking some yoga video as well. I don't know wh@'s got into him, spouting out politically correct garbage like I heard on the video "Michael Franti on Obama". I've left a few thoughts as comment on th@ one...oh yea.. lol ;-D

I have much respect for his work on this album here, but wh@ is he now? Anyway, thanks for the recommend@ions ☺

  • Rock the Nation? Hey World? "Oh My God"? Light up Ya Lighter?

Sure, he's done a few like "Sometimes" about the joyfull side of life, but at the end of the day, joy is real too.

The blood spouting from Afghanistan in the wake of Obamas "Good War" Surge will clear up his vision pretty quickly, no doubt.

    1/2

Yea...maybe, but I don't think so? It looks like he just sees America's first *black* President and not much else. Strange!? I imagined Franti had a more than enough suss not be taken in by the Messianic Obama?

Moreover, I think there's something almost disturbingly racist in Franti's blind faith in Obama for little more reason other than because Obama is a black man.

  • 2/2

This jumped up Chicago gangster from Kenya is hardly a Martin Luther King!

♪♫ Obamanism, the thug of the nation

    pleading ignorance of his originations....♪♫

  • this is simple..shut the fuck up please.

  • You're gone.....gobshyte.
