That's why I mostly buy exclusives (which are usually quality games) and limit my FPS choice to one or two games. This is already happening with all the FPS'. It's a vicious cycle: consumers want new games and developers want more money, so they produce these games faster and with unoriginal ideas. That's why there are so many sequels/spin-offs. People still buy these games which are essentially the same but with different looks. And the only 'innovative' ideas that companies come up with are things that people generally wouldn't want. Who wants to pet virtual animals on Kinect? I certainly don't.

Someday, someone will make an engine where they take a picture on a camera, and the engine replicates what it will be like when you move around.

The gameplay will progress to virtual reality, where you can experience everything the character does as well
