Jimmy Scott was born with a disorder that left his vocal chords under developed resulting in a female-like voice. It was a sex-hormone deficiency that left him also sterile. He learned to harness his voice at a young age and was well liked by all performers. Unfortunately he never received the recognition by the industry he deserved till later in life. I was fortunate to meet him a decade or so ago but remeber hearing his name and first music about 25 yrs ago. Nancy Wilson name him a influence
