I felt very safe with that .357 Holland and Holland. Remember, shot placement is paramount. My cross hairs were shaking all over his chest. When the shot fired, the cross hairs were on his lower chest... heart shot! He ran about 80 yards.
A gorgeous animal! I don't know if I would have taken my chances with a 375 (maybe if I was shooting a Gemsbok or Wildebeest). But a great shot and a beautiful trophy, congrats.
What I achieved by harvesting this truly magnificent animal is knowing that this will allow for more of his kind to be here for furture generations. No worries... (legal)hunting has and never will drive any animal to become extinct.
