The thumbnail looks like the chick is about to blow him. anyways, i think of this song whenever i hear george bush say some shit like "we will lead the disarmament of these wapons in the name of peace"
I'm still spellbound at how relevant this song still is to this day. It shows how timeless this group is and their messages of social/political satire. "Peace is still no the word to play!"
BREAKING ATOMS...Large Professor Sir Scratch and K-Kut captured lightning in a bottle on that classic album...played that cassette to death back in the days....
Im a huge Main Source fan, but, when i think about it, since Large Professor was a genius producer, did Main Source really "need" TWO DJ's??? I never saw the point in that
gbranch70 - who are you? I've been working with extra p from 1989 or 1990 on, and agree - with the exception of Paul C, Large Pro was the first to really get the sp1200 down to a science, a true pioneer and innovator!
Dont know what the argument is about , This is HIP HOP , not today 's music is all just commercial and note this all of these artist are all about money and glamour.. Ok Metal is a form of musical expression in a different context.. Both are now hurt with today's music as I said music today is all commmercial, nothing about conciousness.. I would have to agree with vegunited06 very well put...... I think in the next 20 years music will just be digital no vocals......Both genr reaching its peak
Bearing in mind this was released in '91 how prophetic was Large Professor @ 2:14. Few kids today have respect, focus or direction got to get them to put down the knives and pick up a book instead
What the hell are you talking about everyone listens to shitty ass rap. This is fucking hip-hop! Hardley anybody listens to fucking real hip-hop or metal anymore (true music). What is the shit that kids have blastin out their cars these days? Rap! Metal can be philisophical and so can hip-hop, this song is proof right here. You just took the whole 92% of people listen to rap and if you are one of the 8% who listen to metal and switched it up. Your'e fake and stupid. Metal and hip-hop forever!!!!
You should have given examples of of rap, because Metal is real music just like hip-hop. I honestly don't know what you are talking about, hardly anyone listens to metal, they listen to rap. I'm sorry but you have really pissed me off, get your facts straight before you post bullshit like this. Btw I am not talking about shitty metal bands like lamb of god where you can't understand what they are saying, I am talking about the real metal bands you listed like Metallica and Iron Maiden.
you can't mean p-e-a-c-e, cos i've seen people on the street shoot the next man, turn around and say peace! but that's leaving people in pieces, it's not what the meaning of peace is.
needless to say i'm vexed...
man, they don't make 'em like this anymore! i used to love her... but like jeru said, puffy started getting her drunk and fuckin her mind up...

you can all blame puffy cos he's a cock but stop getting nostalgic it makes me fukkin sick!! and quoting common? resurrection was the last dope album from that slut, thats why y'aint quoting his new shit i guess. the past is dead and gone, bar wu-tang and anyone else whose tunes stood the test of time. fuck 'real', fuck 'conscious' fuck 'boombap' stop neglecting the present day, tomorrow is a bright future, represent it
agree with you about common, one of the reasons i'm so nostalgic. as for the rest, i just lost my faith and i'm allowed to do that... the past isn't dead my friend, it lives on in my nice music collection. i'm getting on man, it's great to hear you say that there's a future, it's young bucks like yourself that need to be believing that. me, i got the memories and i'm happy to move on. hip hop isn't my life any more. if you don't like the idea of keeping it real, how about keeping it nice? peace.
LOL Tomorrow is only a bright future if the quality of music improves today. Fuck the past? Yeah, right. That's why you have over the top remakes of old movies "Friday the 13th", Karate Kid, and Halloween, and now Hellraiser. But until music gets better, people are going to keep looking back (because music had substance). Until a new up and coming label decides to be different and strive on TALENT instead of one hit wonder ignorant ass music? People are gonna keep hating on TODAY'S BULLSHIT
Why is this video cropped at the top and bottom? You're cutting off part of the frame. It's not supposed to be widescreen, man. You can even see where it's cutting off the text, it's obviously forced into letterbox.
I had the pleasure to work with the extra p back in 1989.He was the first person i have ever seen to walk in the studio with a duffle bag full of beats on 3.5 floppy discs. He had also mastered the sp1200,he operated that drum machine like he invented it.That was a memorable experience for me.He is today still one of the most underated producers in hip hop.
Peace, piece of what? You can't mean P E A C E, cause I've seen people on the streets shoot the next man and turn around and say peace.
But that's leaving people in pieces, it's not what the meaning of peace is. To me it means absence of all confusion, not the oozing and brusing...that we're all so accumstomed to..
If this kind of hip hop was played on MTV today, it would be like a REVOLUTION! I miss the old days. Funny how this track sounds like the typical 1993 style, but its from 1991...

You, know, Phester,
there are quite a few labels out there that are fulfilling this ideal.
The problem is that:
A) Rawkus was the last label of such a high caliber to do that
B) All of the other labels at hand are underground.
