What a beautiful music. That old man dance is sooo typical Tajik dance. How these people could preserve their culture, the very old type of music. Wow, I never though about these. Please post more about Tajik minority in China. THANKS
It is hard to distinguish tajiks even from uzbeks cause as you mentioned central asian ethnicities got mixed during centuries. One of the main ways to distinguish ethnicities is clothing - if they wearing kyrgyz hat - well, they would be kyrgyz to majority of central asian. They want to be tajiks, well, they should dress up like tajiks. If you think you are someone - act like someone. And again - there is no offense in my words - i apologize if someone feels uncomfortable about it.
Spitamen, bro. 1. Some ethnic groups in CenAsia didn't get mixed. In contarty they have been separated. Liek Kazakh-Kyrgyz, Or Tajiks and some Uzbeks. Or soem uzbeks and some kazakhs. 2. They might wear kyrgyz hat but they sopeak tajik, and play tajik music. Btw, almost all uzbek wear tajik hats and cloths. Then they all should be seen as tajiks. ha-ha-ha, that's cool. I'd be happy to be tajik, uighur ir kazakh. Don't mind any.
Spitamen, I hope you know what you are trying to say. Are you saying if I were a Chinese hat, I am chinese? cloths are not the real scale to judge but the gene and culture.
Shirio, u r missing a point and contradicting your words. What is HAT for you if not part of a culture? Clothing, language, traditions are all part of culture. So, f.e., how can u claim to be Chinese, if u wear Russian hat as your traditional hat? Back to genes - come to Samarkand, i hope u know were it is located, and try to distinguish people by genes and whatever other real scales you've got out there... =)
spitamen, I am not missing any point neither there is any contradiction in my words. It is just your imagination. Just type in word "Culture" in any dictionary (ignore unrelated meaning) including Britannica and you understand what I mean. Or if you can just tell me the meaning of "Farhang", I tell you the complete root back into old Persian and Pahlavi. HAT is not a determining factor in culture but just a parameter.
Spitamen, as far as Samarkand is concern, if you know where it is located, I am sure everyone else watching this clip know as well. Not only that, I know the history well enough not only for samarkand but Bukhara and other area as well. As far as gene(??) is concern, Tajik and Uzbek don't need you and me, they know who they are themselves. You just try to know yourself.
Shirio77, i am sure u know history of Samarkand very well, but "lets get back to our sheeps", as my Russian friend used to say. =) I am from Samarkand itself and know Uzbekistan demographic issues better than any "wise" person here who is not from Uzbekistan or especially from Tajik speaking parts (Samarkand, Bukhara, etc).
Spitamen, I understand what you are saying and I respect your opinion. I just objected on single factor in determining their cultural identity though, I agree with you in some point. Having say so, I can give you many examples in which just in certain Kurdish area, the dialect is so different they don't even understand each others or in some area of Lorestan, the clothes fundamentally different but they understand each other well.
Spitamen, Getting back to your question, by "Tajik culture is simple and straight..." I mean, The GREATEST of human mind ever and in the oldest mankind poem GATHAHA, starts with very simple sentence "VADA AIEREMI = I give the KNOWLEDGE". Knowledge is the most important guidance for humankind. This is all about the greatest Human Philosopher teaching. "Good Deed, Good Thought, & Good words" What else we need? Wish you the best!
As Tajik of Samarkand i can say one thing - neither their clothing, nor their facial structure (at least majorities) look like Tajik one. On behalf of my hometown Tajiks i can say the same thing. =) It is just humble opinion of Samarkandi Tajik - no more, no less...
Spitamen, I like your id very much. Did you really choose it as meaning I know? Technically, I pronounce it as Spitamana (as in Avesta) but this is also correct. Pirooz Bashi!
well, no one hates...i am telling here what is the difference between tomato and cucumber and you are telling me don't hate veggies...lol...
tell me then, what is the difference between americans, british and canadian? only person who never lived in both societies can say that there is no cultural difference between these two ethnic groups...
Spitamen, bro. 1. Then call tomato tomato, cucumber cucumber. 2. You did hurt someone's feelings saying they are not tajiks cos they don't look like tajik. 3. What i'm saying - these people REALLY look like tajik but only wearing kyrgyz hat. we know cultures, genes and traditions mix sometimes. And it's beautiful!
I don't think you can hurt someone's feeling by telling them that they don't look like tajiks. I am tajik myself, bro, and i say someone doesn't really look like tajik there is no offense here.
Spitamen, how can you be a tajik but not getting right to the point of culture. Tajik culture is simple and straight: Good words, good deeds, & Good thoughts.
Danesh is the one and only one to distinguish a Tajik from others culturaly.
what r u talking about? what knowledge has to do with ethnicity? your words sound more like racistic rather than good words. "Tajik culture is simple and straight..." - what is that suppose to mean? please, try to be more specific and related to current video.
I learnt music and ethnography. Kyrgyzs don't have all these instruments and music is not of their style. It's very ancient sogdian or i would directly tajik or indirectly uzbek if we mean that many sofdians become uzbeks too...
They are the decendents of Tajiks - Iranians from the time of the Sassasanid empire whom controled Kashgar and Taskurghan - both of which are situated in the XINJIANG automous provice of China today.
They might be decendents of Sassanids but these people from video really got mixed up with turkish tribes - their facial structure is not tajik...and cloth - check guys' hat - that is typical kyrgyz hat...and groom's hat is completely weird - i've never seen such in Central Asia and I am from Central Asia...Most likely that hat from somewhere in East Europe...
oh so , i didnt know that , iam sorry ive made a clip about the turkic countrys and i had put the tajiks there too , Dont missundertsand , just ignore it if you watch .
Their facial structures look like kyrgyz or uighurs. But dance and rythm tajiks' - i agree on that. I am not sure how come these people can be "tajiks" but i assume that partly they used to be tajiks and got mixed up with turk tribes like kyrgyz, urghurs or karakhans...very interesting video...
Post your picture with your traditional clothes and people can comment if you look like tajik or not.
And btw, "not being tajik" is not bad thing. Being a tajik doesn't make people superior or better. But to claim yourself tajik you should look like tajik or at least dress traditional tajik clothes.
I'm half uzbek and always wonder; What's is the difference between uzbek and Tajik clothes? What is the difference between some Uzbeks and some Tajiks who look quite similar - persian features? What's the difference between their meals, music or traditions? Btw, they both used to live in villages or towns and didn't differentiate between themselves and our neigbours called us Sarts. they still say: modern uzbeks and tajiks are Sarts...It's amazing. we should only love each other.
well, no one hates...i am telling here what is the difference between tomato and cucumber and you are telling me don't hate veggies...lol...

No, dude...Tajiks are descendants of Persian people...and these people don't look like Tajiks...especially their cloth...they look like more kyrgyz people...
Spitamen, bro, these people r tajiks. Some look slightly uighur. Maybe they are mixed, maybe they live side by side and invited them to the wedding... female costumes typical for those of Xinjiang Tajiks. Yeah, funny, men are wearing Kyrgyz hat. But they look more tajik than kyrgyz.. Although it's not important what u look like, the important thing -who u feel yourself.
