  • OMG this game looks awesome. Why on earth would they not release this game when it is practically finished?

  • so nintendo are we gonna see another starfox soon no remake tho plz?

  • starfox would be awesome in a semi realistic flying game, sorta like H.A.W.X

  • I hate it when people call the Internet "Internets". That annoys me to no end.

  • @SlightyDisturbedNBK Note to self, do that more.

  • @Yuriofwind watch?v=k3I7p5lvkwQ

  • @Yuriofwind Just go all out and call it Interwebz xD

  • that looks ground breaking for snes o_o

  • also since I finally saw gameplay of this I noticed, the gameplay style in this is very similiar ro Star Fox Command (atleast on the basis, however no walking around)

  • X:

  • I really wanted to play this game because of Fara D:

  • They should have made Star Fox 2 on the 3Ds instead of Star Fox 64. That would have been much better

  • I know a guy who makes SF2 repros. the carts play on real hardware :)

  • Should of called Starfox 64 3D... Star Fox 2. and change the storyline.

  • they have this game on vizzed.com(called Starfox 2 Beta 1), played it. awesome game

  • They better make another Star Fox game after Star Fox 64 3D... They can't just end the series just like that!!!

  • @masterjake132 Well they made a couple of GameCube games and several ports for different systems and they also made the SF64 Remake for the 3DS.

  • @UnLokoLoquendero Yes, I know that. I mentioned the remake in the comment

  • ''At the very least we can play the game which... I think I'll do while I wait for Star Fox for the Wii to be made...'' Oh.. if only you'd have known >:3 *insert evil laughter here*

  • @jairom1242 Yea thats My friend right there!

  • Wasn't 1/3 of the levels in the game remade for Starfox 64

  • omg what is the opening song

  • they forgot to put internet compability for star fox 64 3d D:

  • Maybe they could release the old beta on the Wii Shop channel. Maybe...

  • man, if nintendo officially released SF 2 on the super nintendo now, it would still sell, a lot.

  • Can you donate a few of those views to me :3

  • :yess:

  • Starfox for the Wii... Ya, probably not gonna happen. Which is a big-ass disappointment, considering that the Wii U doesn't look like it's going to have nearly the same emphasis on innovation that the Wii has had.

  • @UberShyGuy The Wii U is going to be just a portable Wii... Just wait for it.

  • @Bloxxer42 Portable? How? You mean the whole "controller's touchscreen can double as a TV" thing? Tecnically speaking, the 3DS can already be considered a portable Wii, but you don't see a whole lot of people using it as one, do you?

  • the wii starfoz better have arwings with legs

  • @abrahamstudios Starfoz?

    -_-

  • @abrahamstudios i realized my mistake when i typed teh comment, i jus didnt want to change it. though starfoz is a pretty cool name

  • For it going to be released on SNES, which they should have, the game looks amazing for its time! :)

  • Star Fox 2 = N64 Beta

  • @coopercastille Star Fox 2 = SNES Unreleased game.

  • @Bloxxer42

What was that? Was that suppose to be a joke? I was just saying Star Fox 2 looks like the Nintendo 64 in a development stage(Beta), I know it's an unreleased game ya Roblox player, there's a new thing called MINECRAFT...

  • Ugh, when will Star Fox get a game other than Super Smash Brothers!!!

  • Link me the rom please

  • They could make Starfox for the Wii U, and when you look through the controller at the screen you get the pilot's view and the screen (3rd Person) Starfox Wii U would be awesome...

  • u don't have to thank me for watching it's fun to watch

  • could you imagine the creator of starfox in a store with the first shipment of the copy and a croud of people with their faces pushed against the glass waiting to get a copy then he just gives off a pure evil grin and grabs all the copys with his arms knocks em on the ground then smashes em all to peices then opening the doors so the fans can cry in agony thats basiclly what he did and if they where smart they would have realsed it on the wii vc as a downloadble snes game or even a wiiware game

  • I have the actual cartridge look for the video of it in my uploads. And don't say my commen is fake unless you have proof or see the video yourself. I'm serious.

  • What is the song at the end of the video?

  • @TheDjsdojo83 The control screen on the original snes game

  • what the intro song

  • @supersoniclink1 Corneria from Star Fox on the SNES

  • why the hell could his plane walk?

  • If you pay to have a game created why not release it anyway? Maybe this is why I'm not a business owner but Nintendo should of released this game. Thanx whoever dumped the rom for this game and the hackers that made the game playable you made a lot of star fox fans happy.

  • releasing a new game on a dying console right before a new one comes out is a terrible idea.

  • Too bad it is such a short game! I beat it in about 20 minutes! Luckily, the experience is different everytime you play it.

  • The part where star fox went downhill was adding Crystal.

  • I would play it but I was introduced to Andross in a way that still haunts me. Thanks SSBB.

  • I wish I could enjoy Starfox, but it's just not my kind of game.

  • @MrWaffleFri The screen you get in Star Fox before you start the game, when you choose the control setup.

  • do bound high for VB

  • i HATE OLD gRAPHICS

  • Why dont they make this for 3DS

  • @EthePianoMan There should be 1 on the wii u

  • WHEN IS NINTENDO GOING TO REALIZE THE HUNGER STARFOX FANS HAVE FOR A NEW GAME? Starfox 64 3D was good, but a new game would be awesome! Of course, I've only played assault and 64 3D, but I still want to see more!

  • lol, starfox on wii. That's never gonna happen.

  • I wonder... who leaked the Rom for StarFox 2 anyways?

A nintendo employee? If he's reading this I'd appreciate it if he leaked more betas.

  • @SumSwissCheese like.... say earthbound 64? (aka: mother 64)

  • @SumSwissCheese idk i found it on vimm.nets roms

  • @SumSwissCheese ya.. i want the Mario 64 Beta.. the Mario 64 2 Beta. and the Zelda 64 game beta on roms

  • iF THE FULL GAME IS ABOUT YOU MAYBE ABLE TO FIND A CARTRIDGE FOR. SORRY ABUOT CAPITAL- KEYBOAD IS BEING STUPID. CAPLOCKS WON'T SHUT OFF.

  • @sonicandknuxforever thats the joke.

  • I never played Starfix on the SNES :(

  • I heard from Hard4Games that it was illegal to download a Rom of Starfox 2.

  • @NuttyNut90

its practicalyl illegal to download any rom

  • @XDpanicatthemartinXD Think of it this way. If they wont make the game into English or to stubern to make it in all regions then its their loss. Even though the game will make millions in the us. Looking at you Mother 3 and 1. We always get the middle finger solute from japan when it comes to games.

  • @NuttyNut90 its easy to not get caught

  • @h3ll60 A rom is not a retail release.

  • @Yuriofwind O RLY?

  • @Yuriofwind this rom is apparently 100% complete is it worth my time to have a go at?

  • @Yuriofwind yay man *thumbs up* You tell that asshole :P... and your right... a Rom isn't a Re-release of a canceled game

  • @h3ll60 Better way to say it was that it was LEAKED.

  • So... what about a Virtual Console release? I mean if the game is done, they sunk money into it a long time ago. Now its just a tiny bit more to get it up for legal download (include the battle mode if you want to make sure people have a reason to pay for it) and bam... a project that originally lost money can at least break even.

  • Hey Nintendo, you know what will sell your consoles? A new starfox, not a remake, a NEW one!

  • I tried this and it was sooooooooooooo fun!

  • Do the barrel roll

  • I WANT STARFOX ON WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

  • i played a rom and won it.

    problem?

  • If they just ported Star Fox 2 to the n64 and just changed the graphics this would have been EPIC!

  • ..6 weeks past...still on the search for gamevingw's comment..... running low on food and water...if anyone gets this note, send help...

  • Comment removed

  • It was sooo close.... But sooo far...

  • Q: What's the best way to get your FULL experience to Star Fox 2?

A: Hack the Wii, hack a SNES controller to work on the Wii, get an SNES emulator, and play it on the emulator.

  • @eckogame1720 Or you could buy it in cart form....

  • @SitarKnight What? It dosent exist in cart form.

  • @zeldafanboy23ify It's on MuteCityElectronics(dot)com

  • @eckogame1720 or just use a flash cart and just play it on the snes itself......

  • if this game had been released, we may not have had to play starfox adventures

  • If only super mario x was realeased on snes ! :s

  • i've played it before, got the english translated rom final from a fan website, I already beat it.

  • wow that actually looks amazing for having being done on the SNES

  • Very impressive of how the game takes a step forward with the graphics. Never imagined that the SNES would been capable of having 3D graphics.

  • starfox 2 is only in japan actually

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • Starfox 2 became Starfox 64.

  • Arwing with legs=winning.

  • @bonestorm99 he forgot to mention that in the early beta there was also a hover form that was removed in the later beta.

  • I agree that if Star Fox 2 came out, the game would have taken a bit more of a free-roaming feel down the line. However like said before, the game made 3-D more of a real prospect in the future, and even though not released, it made for one huge, and deep, step forward for us all.

  • the 'second' rom you mention, with the battle mode, was what was playable on the show floor at WCES '95. From what I've read, it was 'locked' in battle mode so *only* that could be played. However, that rom was dumped from a cart that was stolen at that show. Supposedly. The 'final' rom DID have the multi, but it was buggy and unfinished so the translation and debug team (internet folk) erased it, as it prolly woulda been had it seen official release. There is a *ton* more info on this game.

  • @KatieKalamity Since I mentioned it, maybe I'll mention the other FX2 games that never saw the light of day. There was alpha work on a Super FX2 Zelda 2 remake, which was cancelled early on but went on to influence how 3D swordplay would work in Ocarina, and Mario FX which was heavily influenced by Starfox 2's environment technology, which was eventually bumped to the 64 devkits and expanded to become what we know as Mario 64. SF2 taught them a LOT about 3D enviro work, and influenced a lot.

  • i've seen starfox 2 on sale on ebay for £120.00

  • Starfox 2 actually had 3 ROMS. One was the unfinished menu one you mentioned, the 2nd one was the one you said was the first, and the final one was without the test and config.

  • @Argonaut64Studios The one without the test/config is only due to a fan-made translation patch. It's just a modification for the mostly finished one he mentioned.

  • Well... We have star fox 64... Close enough?

  • @gamevingw No.

  • i heard that starfox for the wii has been turned into starfox 64 3d wich probably

means we will just keep getting starfox 64 remakes.=(

  • this looks too advanced for snes standerds

  • Dude that game would have been badass if it had came out. Well glad to see theres a rom of this. I can't believe they wouldn't have released it since it was finished sounds like they lost money on that one. Great video and thanks for the educating me and others on this mystery.

  • HOLD STILL AND LET ME SHOOT YOU! :C)

  • Comment removed

  • I played the 'final' rom. They've got it hacked to remove a few bugs and to kinda make it as if it was a 'finished' release, proper ROM headers and checksums and all that.

Nintendo missed a huge opportunity, but when you play it you realize why they did it. Starfox 64 is pretty much an upgrade of this game, and though some ideas remain unique, they did keep most of the stuff intact.

  • If there in one game that I could recommend for a Gaming Mysteries is Dinosaur Planet. One game that would become into Star Fox Adventures.

  • while this game looks like it could have been good i'm a little sceptical about a walking arwing. and wheres the landmaster?

  • @5h0ckblock My guess is that the Landmaster and Blue Marine were Nintendo's answer to the Arwing having a walker mode that functioned perfectly fine underwater. I kinda liked the transforming Arwing idea better though.

  • Well since star fox 64 3d was a non foot and a classic remake of n64 game that blew us away well i wasn't born yet but i want nintendo to make a wii u new star fox same gameplay and a new story not like star fox command

  • How could this have gone off unreleased to the public? It looked so great it would have left a mark in video gaming history.

  • AHHH I cant find the rom for this well...that works T_T

  • this proves miyamoto is not as smart as people claim he is (hes still great) he messed up the zelda continuity a bit and he should have pushed to have this release as it would have been a swan song for the snese and a platform to jump on when they did get to the N64 (which was a piece of junk)

  • I KNOW WHERE TO GET A CARTRIAGE FOR THIS GAME (BOX AND MANUAL ALSO :D) GO TO WickedClownNZ's channel he sells star fox 2 and some other games

  • NO STAR FOX FOR THE WII.

that's too bad, i really wish they could make a new StarFox game, and please, either kill of Krystal or continue the original SNES story instead of the 64 remake, and please, dont feed furries.

  • Is that Aquas @ 2:12?

  • @yy8gj8 money*

  • @yy8gj8 no cuz noone loses omey from "piracy"

  • if it was never released would it still be illegal to play it

  • Wow so it was finished? Why didn't they release it and at least make back the money they put into it. I guess this was back when Nintendo had enough money to the point where they weren't desperate to make a buck.

  • You kind of sound like Steve from american dad.

  • What is that intro music? I know I've heard it before, but I can't for the life of me remember.

  • I would DEFINITELY recommend playing the third beta.

  • Shortest episode of gaming mysteries related to an unreleased starfox: StarFox for the virtual boy was going to be released near the end of the Virtual Boy's life. Only one screen shot exist and is just an Arwing in red and black (pokemon). This was announced at the WCE of '95. This is all the info about it. No story. No new gameplay elements. Nothing else. An eyepopping 3D starfox will be in the new StarFox 64 3D

  • actually star fox 64 was the same game as star fox 2 just with voice acting and better graphics which is why star fox 2 wasn't released.

  • @IanTheCameraGuy dumass star fox 2 was not on rails(though there were in door part that forced ya to go forward) andd i dont remember turning into a land device at will in star fox 64

  • @bigal2k643 Well maybe it wasn't exactly the same but its probably very simular.

  • @IanTheCameraGuy also completely difrent level desia and more bosses n 2(atleast on expert)

  • Man... I wish I could play the SNES Star Fox... looks amazing

  • You should do a episode on the Half Life 2 and Half Life 1 betas! There was a TON of diffrent things you could talk about, such as the HL2 "Get your free TVs!" and the diffrent weapons!

  • Actually... Some one sent me quite a few builds, 7 in total. But most are pretty much the same with bug fixes I didn't post them anywere because they have things like missing characters occational freezes, things like that.

  • I actually bought a reproduction copy of Star Fox 2.

It cost me an arm and a leg though...

  • OMG this game could have been great to spawn a release on the DS or the 3DS

  • star fox 2 was released in Japan

  • @Z3ldaMahBoi No it wasn't.

  • @tails230 Ok, yea it was, srry, i got confused with the Japanese rom version.

  • @Z3ldaMahBoi Its fine

Star Fox 2 was made in Japan.

A group of hackers made a patch for the ROM to make it english and make it look like a Final Version.

  • can you do Sonic Adventure 2 and Marvel vs Capcom 3? they both have mysteries like the missing Frank West and Super Sonic in other levels and Of course, THE BETA. so can you?

  • @MagneticProductions1 people already have... they are called Reproduction carts. Google Starfox 2 Reproduction Carts :)

  • im guessing command was the one that got these elements cause at 3:47

    KAT

  • theres a rom of this on vizzed.com :D

  • Looks like Star Fox Command with a Star Fox 64 ending and a transforming Arwing.

  • Nintendo should release this on the 3DS virtual console. NINTENDO! MOAR MONEY!!!

  • I wonder if cover art for the cartridge was made. if so someone could start copying it and loading the game onto blank cartridges and we could have a sort of official release.

  • @MagneticProductions1 People have been doing just that. It's been a while since I've looked, but I distinctly remember a mock up cover, as well as people putting the game onto blank carts. Though it's not official, it's pretty cool.

  • @Yuriofwind Gaming mysteries: Dinosour planet/ starfox adventures

    PLEEEEEEEAAAAAASE

  • @Yuriofwind thank you for telling me about that rom i havent played the snes star ox but i have with the others it seems like develepors cancle good games a lot

  • @Yuriofwind @MagneticProductions1

You can get a cart on Gamereproductions for $100

  • @ScReWaTtAcKeD Yeah, but, even for an unreleased game it's a heck of a lot of money.

  • @MegaMarioGuy2 I know, but the work needed to make a SFX repro is alot.

  • @Yuriofwind Isn't Star Fox 2 Star Fox 64?

  • @MagneticProductions1 There's actually a huge repro scene regarding this game. Most UGC box covers use the official box art, shown on a display hanging from a ceiling at the Winter CES 1995, only cleaned up with photoshop, since photos of that display are all that exist of it. My repro cart uses that as it's label art, though my box is a cooler fan made design. I have a label of that same design, but it's much lower in quality than the 'official style' one, so I never changed it...

  • For so few videos you have very good re-reviews and solved mysteries, LoL.

  • Seems a lot like the Star Fox DS game.

  • You should have mentioned that during the E3 or Spaceworld or w/e back then, when SF2 was showcased, that someone actually stole a copy of the game? That's pretty messed up. But if that's not true, nvm my post.
